Some politicians, apparently unsatisfied with merely accusing Moscow of aggression, sometimes even advocate acts that would essentially constitute a military action against Russia.
Pavlo Zhebrivskyi, Kiev-appointed head of military and civilian administration in the Ukrainian-controlled areas of the Donetsk region, declared that Ukraine must reclaim the "indigenous Ukrainian territories", referring to the Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, Rostov and Krasnodar Regions of Russia, according to RIA Novosti.
Meanwhile, earlier this year Radical Party leader Oleh Lyashko introduced a draft bill to the Ukrainian parliament, calling to officially rename Russia as "Muscovia", arguing that both "Russia" and "Rus" are "historical names of Ukraine’s territory."
Volodymyr Zagryvyi, mayor of the Ukrainian city of Novohrad-Volynskyi, also suggested that President Petro Poroshenko should rename Ukraine as "Ukraine-Rus". The mayor claimed that "that name was stolen from the Ukrainian people and appropriated by an aggressor country."
And last but not least, following the Ukrainian singer Jamala’s victory at the Eurovision 2016, Ukrainian politician and former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko made a somewhat cryptic statement that in 2017 the contest should be hosted in "Ukrainian Crimea."
Her wish was echoed President Petro Poroshenko who announced that both Crimea and war-torn Donbass region will be "returned" to Ukraine just like Nadezhda Savchenko.
It should be noted that both politicians were nicely non-specific regarding how exactly they intend to make their dreams come true.
