The Story…
There was a massive tree called Iroko (a mighty tree in the forest) at a certain ancient village in Yorubaland where people would go to implore the spirit of the tree for different favours.
The magical Iroko was often kind, it would at most times consent to their wishes but they must reciprocate with gifts or anything really, and importantly, they must mention the item(s) they want to offer as oblation.
On one fateful morning, a number of persons approached the Iroko tree to ask for abundant sales as they were attending the annual market parade, many promised to offer the Iroko; sheep, goat, yam and things on that line in return, but when it was Oluronbi’s turn, she flippantly promised to offer her beautiful daughter. It was believed that the nicer the item one promised, the better and quicker one’s request would be granted
After the day’s sales, the people were contented, it was a good day, Oluronbi actually recorded the highest sales ever, they were all happy and elated. They all brought various items they promised the Iroko but Oluronbi who refused to turn up.
Oluronbi knew the consequences of not agreeing to appease the Iroko hence, she offered animals, cloth and foods to the Iroko which it rejected.
Sometime later, Oluronbi was going to the stream with her beautiful daughter who was wrapped on her back, she walked passed the Iroko tree thinking perhaps it must have forgotten she made it a vow, as she walked passed the tree, her daughter disappeared and changed into a doll and was resting at the bottom of the Iroko tree.
Oluronbi started screaming; Iroko bami gbe omo mi o (Iroko return my child!). The villagers gathered at the scene and started singing the epic song thus
Onikaluku je je ewure
Ewure, ewure
Onikaluku je je aguntan
Aguntan bolojo
Oluronbi je je omo re
Omo re apon bi epo
Oluronbi O!
Jo’in jo’n
Iroko Jo’in jo’in
Oluronbi O!
Jo’in jo’in
Iroko
Jo’in jo’in .
Basically, the Iroko seized her daughter as agreed and Oluronbi forever lost her to the tree. Very saddening indeed
A promise is a debt especially ones made to Gods, don’t promise what you cannot fulfill.

I need to dispose my GF however don’t know how to go about it. I’ve been striving for as long as eight months to end things up with her however she simply does not get it.
I have been tossing unpretentious signs however she’s not lifting them up. I welcomed her to the house when I knew an alternate young lady will be there however she couldn’t have cared less she didn’t part ways with me.
I don’t answer her pings until after two days and I don’t call her back everything except she still does not get it. I know the simplest approach to end things is to converse with her and let her know it’s over yet I would prefer not to do that for two reasons. She’s my companion’s younger sister and around a year back she was about to die when she attempted to prematurely end a pregnancy for me.
So I’m here out of blame yet I am no more cheerful and need her gone. She barely sees me nowadays or even converse with me yet she continues accepting we are seeing each other. I even put on my BB that I am getting a charge out of the single life and I thought she would face me about it however she chuckled rather and said she misses me. I don’t need this young lady any longer, in what way would I be able to dispose her without having ‘that discussion?

This is an epic photograph truly in light of the fact that the current legislative head of Ekiti state Ayo Fayose & his ancestor Kayode Fayemi have been blaming one another for misappropriation of state government trusts and different charges.
However when the two men met at the 60th birthday administration of an another ex-Ekiti state representative, Segun Oni, they astounded everybody by shaking hands as well as trading pleasantries while their wives look on. It’s not difficult to junk individuals when they are not around you…but when you candidly encounter each other, it’s another story. (photograph credit: Punch).
