White House Rejects Delays in Failed Hostage Rescue Mission in Yemen
MOSCOW, December 6 (Sputnik) – 33-year-old American photojournalist Luke Somers, who has been kept hostage by Al Qaeda militants in Yemen since September 2013, has been killed in a failed rescue attempt by United States commandos late Friday, The New York Times reports on Saturday quoting a senior United States official.
Earlier the Associated Press also reported the death, citing Luke Somers’s sister – Lucy.
