Lagos Police Command smashes notorious cult gang, 14 members arrested


The Lagos State Police Command has recorded yet another success in its fight against Cultism and Armed Robbery in the State. In a bid to make good its promise to chase out armed robbers and cultists from the State, the Command has smashed a notorious robbery/cultist group that has continually unleashed a reign of terror on the residents of Mushin and Idi-Oro Areas of Lagos. Acting on diligently sourced and managed intelligence, the Command swooped in on the gang and a total of fourteen of the gang members have so far been arrested. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni while appealing to Lagosians to remain calm and to continue to furnish the Command with vibrant and actionable intelligence, hereby warns all cultists and armed robbers that the Command will employ all legal means within his disposal to decisively deal with them and their sponsors cum benefactors, adding that unless and until they desist from such nefarious activities, there shall be no hiding place for them.

Boy 'born with 3 penises' undergoes pioneering surgery to leave him with just one

A little boy born with three penises in an incredibly rare occurrence has undergone pioneering surgery to correct the abnormality. According to reports, the two-year-old pictured above with his mum suffers from diphallia, a rare condition where a male is born with two penises.

He also had a third penis considered rudimentary, or undeveloped. In addition, the unnamed boy was born without an anus.

EFCC chairman accused of diverting N1trillion loot recovered from corrupt politicians


The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been accused of diverting over N1tn recovered from corrupt politicians who forfeited their loots. A man named George Uboh recently petitioned the Senate, accusing the chairman of the anti-graft agency of diverting money recovered from corrupt politicians including former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; and ex-Inspector-General of Police, Tafa Balogun.

Buhari raises 13-member panel to probe weapon procurement since 2007


President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the National Security Adviser to convene an investigative committee on the procurement of hardware and munitions in the Armed Forces from 2007 till now, a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has said.
According to the statement, the investigative committee’s mandate is to identify irregularities and make recommendations for streamlining the procurement process in the Armed Forces.

Following the controversy surrounding the retention of dividends paid by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Company Limited to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), it has emerged that the initial directive to retain its 49 per cent share of dividends was actually given by former President Olusegun Obasanjo when he was in office.


Arising from this is another brewing controversy as to whether the dividends belong to the Federation Account for sharing amongst the three tiers of government, or just to the federal government, in this case the NNPC.

Ambode Cancels Fashola's Last Minute Lekki Land Allocations

Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has revoked the allocation of over25 plots of land by his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola, in his final days in office.

TheCable understands that the expansive land at Lekki Phase One had been allocated to the Lagos State Water Corporation in 1998 by the then military administrator of the state, Mohamed Marwa, while the certificate of occupancy was signed by Bola Tinubu, former governor of the state, in 2006.
However, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, who was the permanent secretary of the Lagos state ministry of lands under Fashola, had reportedly informed the former governor that the land was “available”.
The land was officially parcelled into 25plots and shared by Fashola who went on to sign the certificates of occupancy on May 26, three days to his exit from office.

Presidency has again stated that the administration of president Mohammadu Buhari will not shelve the probing of the past government of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the face of monumental fraud and corruption.

Prophet Breaks Wife’s Leg, Chains Son, 32 Others

A self-acclaimed pastor, identified as Prophet Emmanuel (saw name withheld), has allegedly beaten his wife to coma and broken her leg. The prophet also reportedly chained his son within the premises church at Berger area of the Lagos metropolis. Emmanuel was arrested by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) and later handed over to the police at Surulere Police Station.

Policemen attached to Area ‘B’ Command, Apapa, Lagos, have arrested a 54-year-old man for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Ajegunle area of Lagos. This came as a 42-year-old man, identified as Bala, was arrested by police in Oyo State for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Ibadan. On the Ajegunle incident, the victim (names withheld ) told policemen that the suspect, who is her late father’s friend, had had carnal knowledge of her twice.

Explosions Reported at US Military Base in Japan

Multiple explosions were heard at about 1 a.m. local time at a warehouse at the US army base in Kanagawa Prefecture near Tokyo. No injuries have been reported yet.
The site is located near residential areas.

Sagami General Depot is used for the storage of fuel and munitions. As the facility has been underused lately, Washington and Tokyo held talks on the return of most of the 200-hectare territory to Japan.
