2015: Why I Am Supporting President Jonathan

By Ohimai Amaize

There is so much to write about why I am supporting President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015. It is said that
the only thing permanent about life is its sheer impermanence. Given the foregoing, change is thus a
constant of human existence. Nonetheless, I am not one of those who would treat the concept of change as
a mere abstraction or a garb of convenience tailored, adorned and dumped at the slightest whim of the
adorner. Far from it!

I’m coming up with anti-corruption plan - President Jonathan

Speaking during a special New Year service at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, in Abuja yesterday January 1st, President Jonathan said his administration is coming up with plans and programmes to fight corruption in Nigeria. What he said below...

"There are two main problems confronting us as a nation: The issue of insecurity in the North where we have the Boko Haram terrorists and in the South where we have commercial kidnapping. The next thing that people worry about after security is the issue of corruption. We are coming out with programmes and plans to clean up. These are things that you don’t just use a magical wand to wave off, otherwise even before I became the President, there wouldn’t have been corruption in Nigeria.

President Jonathan's 2014 Christmas message to the Nation

A message from president Jonathan
Dear Compatriots,
I greet and felicitate with you all once again as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I join all of our Christian compatriots in giving thanks to God Almighty for the divine gift of Jesus Christ the Messiah whose earthly incarnation we commemorate today.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ who the Prophet Isaiah heralded as the Prince of Peace and Wonderful Counselor, I believe it is very appropriate that we all, Christians and non-Christians alike, reflect more deeply on the virtues and ideals which the Messiah espoused during his earthly mission.
