Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose got left kickbacks from contractors and lavished the cash on mansions, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has alleged.

The governor’s N1.299 billion bank account has been frozeen. He is in court contesting the order, which the EFCC has defended. The case is coming up September 30 at the Federal Gigh Court, Ado-Ekiti.

Customs Pegs Import Duty Exchange Rate At N282/US$

LAGOS — FOLLOWING the release of the new foreign exchange policy, the Nigeria Customs Service has pegged import duty rate at N282 to a dollar with effect from July 1.

This may result in higher duty for imports made before the new policy was introduced. The implication of the increment is that more cargoes may be abandoned at the ports.

According to the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Ali Okechukwu, the members of the gang, led by one Ifedilichukwu Nwankwo, allegedly chopped off one of the ears of a Divisional Police Officer of Ajali Division who was at Nanka to effect their arrest.

Okechukwu said, “On 17/02/2016 at about 9am hours, one Okechukwu Udezuka of Oraifite and Ebuka, surname unknown, were shot dead at Tarzan, Nkpor by a gang of armed robbers. In the course of investigation, two persons namely Emamanuel Nwabudu, Chigozie Nweke, a.k.a Achito, were arrested.
