59 men, women and children were rescued from Boko Haram captivity after troops of 151 Task Force Battalion launched an attack on the sect members camp in Kashingeri, Wale and Kushingari villages in Borno state today July 30th. A Landrover vehicle and a Tipper were recovered from the sect members after the operation. In a related development, troops of 21 Brigade and members of the Nigerian Army Engineers yesterday July 29th cleared a notorious terrorists camp at Chuogori and Shantumari, in Borno. Police nab 9 more suspects over the killing of 4yr old boy in Lagos
9 people have been arrested in connection with the July 27th murder of a four-year old boy by 16 year old Tajudeen Azeez (pictured above) in Ijaniki, Lagos. (read previous story here)
The Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Patricia Amadin, said the suspects were arrested following a confessional statement by Azeez who is currently in police custody. She added that the police is still investigating the matter and more arrest will be made. Azeez had agreed to kill his neighbor's child after a man named Osho promised to give him N50,000 if he can provide human flesh.

A three-year-old boy, Basit Adewole, was burnt to death in the Iwaya, Yaba area of Lagos after two women, who were cooking, mistakenly poured hot oil on his body.

A middle-aged man from Imo State reportedly died after consuming 20 sachets of gin in a N500 bet he had with a woman. The deceased named Chucks, a barber, was happily married with a child, and lived in Aba, Abia State.

Three men have been jailed after being convicted of running an animal brothel in Swansea, Wales.
