Buhari, no safe haven for looters please

THE moral decadence of Nigeria’s political class is playing out in the ongoing mass defections from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the victorious opposition All Progressives Congress.

No sooner had Muhammadu Buhari of the APC triumphed over President Goodluck Jonathan than the floodgates opened for prominent PDP stalwarts looking perpetually to the spoils of office to jump ship. Buhari and the APC now have a historic mission to break with the prevailing predatory system that has foisted parasitic political elite on the country.

Buhari has no certificate, Okupe insists

The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, has said that he stands by his words that the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, is not an electable leader.

Many critics of the All Progressives Congress candidate, including the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, who, in the buildup to the March 28 presidential election, condemned Buhari, had subsequently apologised after he won the election.

Fayose condemns Lagos APC 1-Million-Man March, Says; "Buhari has vindicated me"

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the planned One-Million-Man March by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos as a plot by the party to cause chaos and pandemonium in the State, so as to take the minds of the public away from the lies they told about the health status of the party's presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd).

The governor also said that he had been vindicated by Buhari, having admitted that he actually travelled to the United Kingdom to rest and that he visited his doctors.

Buhari’s Poweful speech at Chatham House!

Permit me to start by thanking Chatham House for the invitation to talk about this important topic at this crucial time. When speaking about Nigeria overseas, I normally prefer to be my country’s public relations and marketing officer, extolling her virtues and hoping to attract investments and tourists. But as we all know, Nigeria is now battling with many challenges, and if I refer to them, I do so only to impress on our friends in the United Kingdom that we are quite aware of our shortcomings and are doing our best to address them.

I’m Being Harshly Judged By My Past Records – Buhari

The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential flag bearer, General Muhammadu (rtd) in a live interview with Christiane Amanpour, on Wednesday evening said it was wrong for anyone to use what transpired during the military era to judge him in his quest to return to power under a democratic government.

He also said that he would ensure that corruption is rooted out of the system as soon as he is elected, agreeing with the statement that if ”Nigeria does not kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.”

Don't place any stock on MEND's alleged endorsement, Jonathan tells Buhari

Another statement about this MEND endorsement of Buhari. This one is from the presidency...
We have noted with amusement, the vituperations against President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by the renegade faction of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) headed by the convicted terrorist, Henry Okah in a statement issued to endorse the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen Buhari.

Buhari: The Myths of Change

In the wee hours of the night on January 4th, 1984, heavily armed men of the special ops department of the Nigerian Army known as strike force stormed the residence of Chief Olu Awotesu in Lagos to effect an arrest based on an order from above. Chief Olu Awotesu had travelled to his home town in Iperu, Ogun State and on realising that their target was not around, the soldiers descended on his family.
