The best of Nigerian society came out to watch what some are calling the theatre production of the year, 'The Wives'. The command performance which held on Saturday, 11 October at the Agip Recital Hall of Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos wrapped up a 3-day festival of brilliant stagecraft.

Guests at the performance included Minister for Communication Technology Omobola Johnson, Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank Bola Adesola, Chief Executive of WIMBIMZ, Osayi Alile, Rita Dominic, Olu Jacobs, Patrick Doyle, Tunde Kelani,  Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Emmanuel Babayaro, Osas Ighodaro, Mo Cheddah, amongst others. 

Actor Clems Onyeka killed in Asaba that day

 What a sad day! Popular Nollywood actor Clems Onyeka has died. He was gunned down by a stray bullet in Asaba this afternoon October 14th. According to eye-witnesses, robbers who robbed a bank along Summit Express, were exchanging gun fire with police when Clems got hit by a stray bullet. He was just 37 years old. May his soul rest in peace...Amen.

Gunshot Residue Found on St. Louis Shooting Victim: Lab Results


 Vonderrit Myers, Jr., an African-American teenager, who was shot and killed by a white off-duty police officer in St. Louis on October 8, tested positive for gunpowder residue, according to crime lab results, released by Missouri state authorities on Tuesday.

“The presence of gunshot residue on a person’s hands could mean the individual discharged a firearm, was near a firearm when it was discharged, or touched an object with gunshot residue on it. Individuals shot at close range can have gunshot residue deposited onto their hands,” the lab results read.

The Vatican has asked for gay men and women to be given a chance in the catholic faith as they have gifts and qualities to offer the church. This call was made in a document released yesterday October 13th by the Vatican after a week-long Synod (Council of a church, usually convened to decide an issue of doctrine,) attended by about 200 bishops, who deliberated and came up with the resolution contained in a document which is known by its latino name "relatio",

Mayhem in Yenagoa, Bayelsa as suspected drunk soldier kills colleague

There was pandemonium yesterday night among security agencies in Yenagoa, Bayelsa after a soldier suspected to be drunk, shot and killed his colleague during an argument.

According to eye-witnesses, the incident happened around 11pm on Monday night at Olopa Junction, very close to Bayelsa state Government House. The yet to be identified soldier was immediately disarmed and arrested by his other colleagues and is currently remanded in a police cell.

The killer and victim are said to be attached to the police station in Olopa junction, Yenagoa. Spokesperson of Bayelsa State Police Command, Alex Akhigbe confirmed the killing but said it was a military affair. Details of the killing later.
