It is a story of a 300level English Language student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Annabel Nzubechukwu Edeh, who hasn't been seen since she left an evening club with unknown man many weeks ago in Awka, Anambra state.
Annabel had opted to the night time club with friends on September 17th and whilst the band of girls willing to leave, Annabel shared with her friends she was needing money so would go house or apartment with a man she'd met at the club and would come back to school the next morning. This has been 6 weeks and Annabel hasn't been seen.

FG Inaugurates 144million Naira Agric Equipment Hiring centres in Zamfara State


4 agricultural equipment hiring centres worth N144m were inaugurated in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr Akinwumi Adesina said there would be 20 tractors, power tillers, harvesters and planters, among other modern farm machinery in each centre, located in each senatorial zone and the state capital. Adesina revealed a total of 1,200 centres would be established across the country before the end of the year, in line with President Goodluck Jonathan's directive.

FG, Draft Bill for Biotechnology Organization Approved !



In furtherance of Leader Goodluck Jonathan's Change Agenda, a Draft Bill for the establishment of a Biotechnology Development Agency was permitted by the Federal Government Council. Supervising Minister of Data Nurudeen Muhammed observed the establishment of the Agency may promote, coordinate and set bio-technology goal for the country.
Muhammed said,
“Today in council, the Minister of Science and Technology presented another memorandum to seek for council’s approval to transmit to the National Assembly a Draft Bill (2014) for an act to establish a National Biotechnology Development Agency and other related matters. Council deliberated extensively and noted the relevance of this bill in research development, food production, export promotion, import substitution, manufacturing and job creation, which are consistent with the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration."
“It unanimously approved for transmission to the National Assembly a Draft Bill (2014) for an act to establish the National Biotechnology Development Agency and other related matters,” he said.
Mr. Muhammed also stated the Act seeks to improve service delivery, efficiency and promote sustenance and innovation in the development and application of acceptable and profitable technologies through strategic investments in biotechnology research and development.

Tambuwal sues FG over removal of his security aides


Just one day after his security aides were withdrawn by the Federal Government, the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, has filed a suit contrary to the FG before a Federal High court in Abuja.
Tanbuwal filed the suit today Oct. 31st asking the court to declare that the withdrawal of his security aides while he's still the Speaker is unlawful and unconstitutional. He also asked the court to restrain FG from further infringing on his rights and privileges. You will find reports they want to declare his seat vacant and organize a bye-election for the goal of replacing him. Tanbuwal asked the court to restrain FG, INEC, PDP and IGP from doing this. For the time being, he wants the court to order FG to get back his security detail pending the determination of the suit.

24yr old British-Nigerian lady, Joy Williams (pictured above) has died after a failed £2,000 butt enlargement surgery in Bangkok, Thailand. The young lady's older brother, Anietie, who lives in Nigeria, said the family didn't even know she'd traveled to Thailand.
"We don't really know what went wrong, we only know what is in reports in the media." Anietie said
He also said that the family is making preparations to bring her body home. According to the Daily Mail, Joy, who relocated to the UK from Nigeria in 2007 and lives with her mother in Thamesmead, died on October 23rd after visiting a clinic called SP Clinic in Thailand which she had found on the internet. They expressed deep concern about the growing threat of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and the likelihood that the radical outfit might influence the continent’s own jihadi groups. Areas of concern for the chiefs included an “alliance being built by terror groups worldwide, sophisticated sources of funding, and [Africa’s] porous borders.”

A major risk of ISIS establishing itself in Africa is through the continent’s organized jihadi groups. This begs the question: Does ISIS has a relationship with these groups?

Leader Goodluck Jonathan revealed plans to institute a National Policy On Ageing. The announcement was made by the Minister of Women Affairs & Social Development Hajiya Zainab Maina at the opening of a two-Day National Summit on Ageing & Older Persons. The conference was organized by her ministry in collaboration with Dave Omokaro Foundation and other stakeholders, marking this year's International Day of Older Persons.

A bomb went off at the Gombe Line motor park in Gombe state around 9am today that has triggered the death of at least 30 people. Eye witnesses say the bomb was planted by a man who came and dropped his bag in a Kano line bus and left. NEMA officials were present at the scene removing the dead bodies and taking the injured to the Gombe State Specialist Hospital. Hoping to obtain additional info from the blast later.  5 final year students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, have designed and fabricated a formula student race car as a final year project. Yea, they did. The students are Okoyenta Augustus, Okeke Chukwuebuka, Ezeani Chikeluba‎, Ofoegbu Kenechukwu, and Igbokwe Ebenezer. (all pictured above). The car was made under the supervision of Dr. S C Nwigbo. The project took about oe year and half to do , with the students working under severe condition when it comes to power, poor machinery and attending lectures. Nevertheless they never backed down, and have achieve this incredible feat.‎ Listed here are photos of the car's exhibition in the clear presence of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ahaneku and other dignitaries from the school.

Spread Of Ebola In Liberia Is Slowing Down - WHO


World Health Organisation said on Wednesday in Geneva that the spread of Ebola in Liberia appeared to be slowing compared to the “heavy traffic” in the past.Bruce Aylward, who is in charge of WHO’s efforts to fight the disease in West Africa, said there were indications that the actual number of newly reported cases was beginning to decline in Liberia.He said that hospital beds in the capital Monrovia had been freeing up, the number of laboratory-confirmed cases had remained stable, and the number of burials had fallen.Aylward stressed that the analysis was preliminary, and that there was a chance that the development might be due to a lack of reporting of new cases or people not seeking treatment.
