Some worrying events happened in the Aegean the past couple of days. Turkey has issued a unilateralNOTAM reserving large swathe of the Aegean, including large part of the Hellenic FIR for military exercises with live fire from 01/03/2015 to 31/12/2015. This effectively cut the Aegean in half, but most importantly it included part of Limnos, a Greek island in north Aegean. So in effect, Turkey has stated that it could use parts of an island belonging to Greece as a firing range.

Boko Haram terrorist released a video on twitter yesterday demonstrating the execution of two men they blamed for being spies for the Nigerian police.

16yr old SS1 student robs, rapes 52yr old woman, says her naked body turned him on

16 year old SS1 student, Abdulateef Asamu (pictured above) has been arrested by the Ogun state Police command for robbing and raping his neighbor, a 52 year old woman at Lambe area of Ajuwon, Ogun state on January 18th.

According to Tribune, the police said that Abdulateef, the first son of his parents, broke into the woman's home late at night, threatened her with a weapon and demanded she bring out all the money she had at home. He took about N16,500 from her and then asked her to lie down so he could have sex with her. He lied to the woman that he had his gang outside her home who would come in if she didn't obey him. Out of fear, the woman who was alone at home that night, agreed and he proceeded to rape her...

Russian forces from the Eastern Command held live fire practices with the front line S-400 Triumph air defense rocket framework in the Volga area. The S-400 effectively captured target rockets, impersonating an approaching enemy launch.

The S-400 Triumph is intended to catch any elevated targets, including key aircraft, warrior planes and stealth air ship, and journey and ballistic rockets at a separation of up to 400 kilometers (250 miles) and an elevation of up to 30 kilometers (18.6 miles).

The S-400 Triumph, put into service  in 2007, is delivered by Russia’s biggest defense  contractor, the Almaz-Antey outline bureau. It is perfect for securing urban areas, military offices and other delicate ranges. A solitary S-400 can captivate up to of 80 targets at the same time with 160 missiles.
