I'll not support any interim government and their will be no election annulment - OBJ

Previous President Olusegun Obasanjo says he won’t be a piece of any arrangements to constitute an interval government that may be framed after the general races. As per PMNews, he said this while tending to a gathering of Concerned Nigerians who had come to relieve their apprehensions about the forthcoming general decisions at his home in Abeokuta, Ogun state toward the beginning of today. He additionally said that there is no plausibility of the decision being dissolved.

“You need not to worry about anything. There can never be any June 12 annulment again. Buhari is not Abiola, he is a trained and highly intelligent soldier. Oyegun is not Anenih, Osinbajo is not Kingibe. Jega is not Nwosu, Jonathan is not IBB and this time around, Obasanjo will not support any interim government. Obasanjo will rather support a free, fair and credible election.”he said

Lagos PDP lashes out at APC, Defends Koro

The Lagos State part of the Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday lashed out at the All Progressives Congress in the state over reports that PDP pioneers were against the pastoral assignment of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

Mr. Taofik Gani

The PDP, in an announcement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Gani Taofik, urged people in general to disregard the gossip, taking note of that the pioneers of the gathering were emphatically behind Obanikoro.

It said the talk was being spread to cause bitterness and disarray inside the gathering, including that Obanikoro was exceptionally met all requirements for the pastoral post.

The statement read (Punch),

“They are thus peddling the rumour to cause acrimony among our leaders but unfortunately for the APC, all our leaders have come together, better united and have said no to leadership acrimony in Lagos State.

“The sponsors of the divisive rumours are the leaders of APC, especially in Lagos State. They will always shiver at the mention of Obanikoro. Indeed, a willing Obanikoro is politically skilful to torment the assumed political influence of APC in the state.

“We enjoy how, in recent times, the APC has become very paranoid of our soaring feat in Lagos State. They now discuss our concerns more than theirs! This is laughable. How does one explain the interest of the APC in the decision of the PDP to support one of its best to serve the country?

“This rumour is obviously the extension of the recent impotent threat by APC senators to oppose the screening of Senator Obanikoro. This is a politically influential, successful business and family man.”

Removing Jega’ll lead to violence, Reps warn FG

The House of Representatives on Tuesday warned the Federal Government against tampering with the existing “arrangements” for the March 28 elections, particularly the removal of the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega.

The House noted that changing the election plans either by further extending the dates or removing Jega would only lead to a magnitude of violence, worse than what was witnessed   after the 2011 polls.

In a resolution in Abuja, the House drew the attention of the political class, the Federal Government, state governments and security agencies to warnings of unavoidable violence already issued by eminent Nigerians and groups, both on the international and local scenes.

The association on Monday night inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government on the agreement. The Chief of Staff to Fayose, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, who spoke to the representative at the event, said the agreement was a piece of the stomach foundation project of Fayose.

Anisulowo said,

“This is an empowerment project. We are awarding the furniture aspect of the Millennium Development Goals project to these local furniture makers. The project covers about six local government areas in Ekiti State, so they will make the chairs and the tables for all the schools in the six LGAs.

“The whole project would cost the government about N1.2bn. This gesture by the governor is the first of its kind in Ekiti State. The governor did this to make good his promise to empower local contractors and artisans in the state.”

He appealed to the artisans to make good use of the opportunity.

“I hope you would not disappoint the governor because he has reposed a lot of confidence in you to have given you this project. I pray you will reciprocate his kind gesture by doing a very good job,” he told the carpenters.

Chairman of the association, Michael Adeyemi, expressed gratitude to the state government on behalf of his members.

Actress Toyin Aimakhu reacts to 'I can die for PDP statement'

During the MeetThePresident event that held over the weekend, actress Toyin Aimakhu was quoted as saying she 'can die for PDP'. Well, she just released a statement, saying she can never die for any party or anyone and it's pathetic for anyone to take her words literally.

Statement below...

Our country has given its citizens the right to freedom of speech and right to vote and be voted for, I’m most definitely not an exception. As of 1999, Nigeria has about 29 political parties, allowing every citizen to choose at their own free will. It is then left to us not to undermine the decision or choices of others as it is loathsome. We live in a world where people take pleasure in bringing other people down. I feel obliged to address the matter of me dying for the PDP. Firstly, no one is dying for anyone and the last time I checked only Jesus had died for us with no strings attached or money promised to his family when he’s gone.

"This election is not about brother, it is about your stomach" - Gov. Amaechi

While crusading Campaigning for APC at the Degema Obonoma and Abonnema groups in Degema and Akuku-Toru Local government region of Rivers state yesterday March third, Gov Rotimi Amaechi was cited as saying to the individuals to vote in favor of their stomach and not on the grounds that their sibling, President Jonathan was in the race to be re-chosen as President.

“This election is not about brother, it is about your stomach. If dollar likes, it can get to N300 or N400 to a dollar, the President can afford it but you can’t afford it. Now they tried everything possible to stop the dollar from losing control. They couldn’t because the economy will determine whether the dollar will lose control or not and the economy has done that already. Another one is fuel. They have done everything possible to pay for fuel. They can’t pay. The money is not there. Now, there is fuel crisis.

If they win, they will abandon you completely because they have no solution to the problems. The first solution to the problems is a new government. Are we going to win? The answer is yes. We have not started campaign. We will start campaign by the end of this week. We will see the crowd again that will frighten the president. Nigerians want change. Things have got to change. See your road. Two years ago, I sat with the president and Kalabari chiefs and I said, ‘Allow me take this road. The president said no’. You can see the road. Next rainy season, you cannot drive into this place unless you change the President and if you change the President, then the new President can fix the road.” he was quoted by Vanguard as saying
