The British had a ruthless economic agenda when it came to operating in India and that did not include empathy for native citizens. Under the British Raj, India suffered countless famines. But the worst hit was Bengal. The first of these was in 1770, followed by severe ones in 1783, 1866, 1873, 1892, 1897 and lastly 1943-44. Previously, when famines had hit the country, indigenous rulers were quick with useful responses to avert major disasters. After the advent of the British, most of the famines were a consequence of monsoonal delays along with the exploitation of the country’s natural resources by the British for their own financial gain. Yet they did little to acknowledge the havoc these actions wrought. If anything, they were irritated at the inconveniences in taxing the famines brought about.

4 Troops killed while clearing IEDs from bomb factory in Yobe.
Four officers lost their lives while getting out IEDs from a bomb processing plant found in Buni Yadi in Yobe state on Saturday March seventh.
As per an announcement discharged by the Director, Defense Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade today, the bomb industrial facility spotted in a fertilizer plant was found while the troops were getting out all hints of terrorist gatherings in the town. Are You A Careless Parent ?
Most parents want the best for their children and will work hard to make sure their progeny have the best of everything.
But, with time, knowingly or unknowingly, parents may get careless in the care of their children. Improper parental care lead child to become unhelpful. If a child misbehaves, lashes out or doesn’t focus well at school, a lot of the behavior can often be linked to poor parenting practices. A careless mother can trigger some very detrimental effects on a child’s life.
Whenever a parent displays little to zero concern about the welfare of their child or children, they are probably careless and unfit for
parenting in general. This is often tied to a lack of help or support for their child’s education.
Effective parents take care of the emotional needs of their children. They nurture them with kind words, encouragement, active listening, kisses, hugs and time together. These things can nurture a child and provide him with positive and healthy self-esteem, the confidence necessary to thrive in life.
If a parent doesn’t offer any of these things, their children run the risk of lacking confidence and importance in the world.
Emotional abuse can be traumatizing and can lead to serious psychological impacts that stay for life. Examples include threatening, yelling, insulting, humiliating, ignoring as a form of punishment and comparing a child negatively to others. To be good parents, it’s important to provide your children with an environment that’s safe, stable and peaceful. One sign of careless parenting is fighting with other people in front of your children – whether with a husband, other family members or friends. Exposing children to an unstable and sometimes violent atmosphere can instill fear in them at an early age and lead them to believe that’s an acceptable way to live.
If a child doesn’t has proper supervision or someone to look after her in her daily life – whether it’s about her eating dinner, going to bed
early or doing her homework on time – she’s likely suffering from a serious case of parental neglect. If a child is always in a frightening and unstable environment where he has to walk on eggshells due to not knowing when his mother will next explode into a fit of anger, the mother is unfit and careless in her role as a parent. This also indicates a lack of clear rules and understanding in a household. If a child doesn’t practice good hygiene and no one is there to help her or guide her, she probably has a careless parent. Proper hygiene encompasses regular showering and brushing teeth, having clean hair and wearing freshly washed clothing.
Children are learning everything about the world they live in from a fresh family’s perspective , this is why family is considered sociologically as one of the agents of socialization .Children acquires their cultural and moral values through interaction with their parents including their behaviors whether good or bad. Psychologists believed that the attitudes and behaviors or response of the parents towards their children has a great implication positively or negatively on the mental development of the children from childhood to maturity.
