As indicated by what I know, Emma Nyra dated Ubi Franklin for around three years and they all lived together in same house in Lekki however in the event that she’s insisting they didn’t date, she must have her reasons. In another meeting with Vanguard, the artist said Ubi threatened her for quite a long time.
“Ubi and I never dated. Rather he terrorized me for years. He abused me and other members of the label with physical and verbal force. This is why I left Triple MG the first time. He claims he spent money on me but failed to mention that he never gave me my payment for all the tours I have done alongside Iyanya. The true story lies between me and other members of Triple MG who have all chosen to be silent because of fear of one man. I do not support abuse of women or men. That is why I left. I don’t want to be involved with anything that has to do with Ubi Franklin ever again. Honestly, I don’t want to see my name associated with Ubi in any way. Let these lies die down. I am moving on with my career. Thank God” She said
Former Minister of Education and convener of the Bringbackourgirls group, Oby Ezekwesili was a guest on Al-jazeerah’s Hardtalk which aired on Friday May 1st and it has got many people on social media talking.
Many believe she responded very intelligently throughout the interview but expressed their reservations regarding her response when she was asked if the administration of her former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo who she served under as Minister of Education was as corrupt as what many have described it to be.
“I really like empirical evidence..and right now you don’t have any. You just assumed” – she told the reporter. More stuff she said after the cut…
According to Oby Ezekwesili, Obasanjo’s government was not as corrupt as the government of Late Sani Abacha
“There was no way it could have been more corrupt that the government of Abacha. I am sorry” she said
Asked what she makes of the Wikileaks report that quoted former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu telling the US Ambassador in 2007 that although in the Abacha days, only Abacha was the sole thief in his government, in the Obasanjo administration, everyone was a thief, Oby Ezekwesili replied
“The next person you should invite to your show should be Nuhu Ribadu. Its not about rejecting his views. I don’t have counter-factory evidence on the basis to reject it”she said
Asked how corrupt is former President Obasanjo is in her view, she said
“Is that supposed to be a question on the basis of some factual thing that you are putting before me? My sense of President Obasanjo was that he gave me the freedom to define the work that I did that public procurement was more transparent than it used to be”she said
According to Dr Ezekwesili, the Obasanjo administration had some corruption challenges and as the President then, Obasanjo was aware of the elements of corruption
“He was aware of the elements of corruption and it was his responsibility to tackle those issues of corruption. We tackled corruption but we didn’t succeed fully. We didn’t” she said.
Dr Ezekwesili later said she will be reacting later today to all the rumbles that her interview has
caused.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 arraigned one Oladepo Bamidele Osibeluwo before Justice Augustine Odukwo of the Akwa Ibom State High Court Uyo, on one count charge of stealing to the tune of N4,623, 600.00
The accused, who was employed as Regional Sales Manager by Topcare Nigeria Limited, a pharmaceutical company, sometime in 2011, allegedly sold some pharmaceutical products worth N4,623, 600.00
The complainant, however, said the accused could not give proper account of the sales recorded. The charge reads: “ That you Oladepo Bamidele Osibeluwo being an employee of Topcare Nigeria Limited, Uyo, sometime in September 2011, within the Uyo Judicial Division, did steal the sum of Four Million, Six Hundred and Twenty Three Thousand, Six Hundred Naira only (N4,623, 600.00), being sales of drugs, property of Topcare Nigeria Limited and thereby committed an offence of stealing contrary to Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code CAP 38 Vol. II Laws of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria 2000.” The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.Following his plea, the prosecution counsel, M. T. Iko, prayed the court for a date to enable him present his witnesses for the commencement of trial. However, the defense counsel, Nse Williams, urged the court to grant the accused bail. After listening to counsel, Justice Augustine said the case should be transferred to an administrative judge for re-assignment on the grounds that only courts 5 and 6 in the State High Court, Uyo Judicial Division handle criminal cases. Justice Augustine refused the accused bail and ordered that he should be remanded in prison custody.

It was gathered that the traditional ruler of the community, Oba Solomon Atanda led the protest which started on Friday through Saturday.
It will be recalled that the pregnant woman and two other persons lost their lives in a clash between men of the Oodua People’s Congress who were employed by the Federal Government to oversee the protection of pipelines, and some youths suspected to be pipeline vandals. Damilola, who was six months pregnant, fell to a stray bullet while in her car. The angry protesters were said to have blocked the main entrance into the community for about one hour.
Some of the placards displayed reads, “We are under attack in Arepo”, “Arepo, no longer safe”, “and OPC limit your operations to the creek ”and“ President, save our souls in Arepo, please”.
The protesters called for a proper training for members of OPC as that will help to eradicate unnecessary bloodshed.

President Barack Obama of the United State of America (USA) has approved the disbursement of $35 million in military and defence support services to France as part of Washington’s contribution to the war against the terror group, Boko Haram.
The White House said the aid is on account of the Paris active support for Nigeria’s French speaking neighbours—Niger and Chad—in their fight against Boko Haram insurgents as well as Mali, which is battling Islamic extremism.
The three French-speaking have been in the forefront of the war against Islamic terrorism. No reference was made to Nigeria, which is the worst hit by Boko Haram’s terrorist assaults. The outgoing Jonathan administration has not enjoyed the best of relations with President Obama over the Nigerian leader’s initial questionable response of the US to the Boko Haram menace.
Agency report yesterday said a US government official simply reaffirmed that the $35 million funding was in support of French operations, which are not taking place in Nigeria. Some diplomats expect that once President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, assumes office on May 29, the White House will announce some new initiatives to support the overall fight against terror groups in Nigeria.
Recently at Time magazine’s 100 influential people gala in New York City, top US government officials, including Samantha Powers, promised that the US would do more to support the search for the Chibok girls and the fight against Boko Haram in Nigeria.
A 23 year old pregnant mother of four, Asabe Aliyu who was rescued from Sambisa Forest by the military a week ago says she doesn’t know the father of her unborn kid as Boko Haram men took turns in raping with her while she was held hostage in their camp
“I was abducted six months ago in Delsak when our village was overrun by Boko Haram. First I had sojourned from my village to a forest close to Cameroun, they turned me into a sex machine. They took turns to sleep with me. Now, I am pregnant and I cannot identify the father. With my condition as a pregnant woman, I did the cooking of their food” she told Daily Times amid tears.
The stories from the women are heartbreaking as they tell stories of sadness and untold hardship. Lami Musa, another returnee recalled how she was abducted when she was four months pregnant. According to her, she had not had a bath nor given her daughter a bath since she give birth in the sect members camp three days ago
“They adducted the whole of my family and killed my husband at Kilkasa forest when I was four months pregnant. They took us to Sambisa forest, we were sleeping in an open field. For days, we went without water or food. Three days ago, I gave birth to this baby girl. As I am talking to you, I cannot ascertain the status of her health. I have not had a bath since I was delivered of the baby. The baby is yet to be bathed too.

Russian officials have criticized the Polish president for calling the Victory Day parade in Moscow a “demonstration of force” and reminded Komorowski that it was the Soviet Union that had liberated the country from Nazism.
Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski said on Sunday that the upcoming Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9 is a “demonstration of force” and an example of an “unstable world.” According to him, the Red Square once again will become a “tank square.”First deputy head of the International Committee of the lower chamber of the Russian parliament Leonid Kalashnikov said that Russian tanks had liberated Poland during World War II when commenting on Komorowski’s remarks.
“If not for the tanks mentioned by the president of Poland, Poland would not exist now on the world map. I must remind you that, according to the Nazi plans, Poland was supposed to be a territory that Germany was preparing for the resettlement of the German population. Others were supposed to be expelled and destroyed. And only due to Russian tanks they [Poland] gained their freedom and sovereignty.”
Ten years ago and even last year Poland did not treat Russian parades this way because “a parade is not saber-rattling, it is a reminder that, unfortunately, violence still exists in the world and armed forces protect a country from that violence,” Kalashnikov told RIA Novosti.By making such a statement, Polish authorities reaffirm their commitment to hostile rhetoric toward Russia, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation Andrei Klishas said.
According to Klishas, Komorowski should not forget that it was the Soviet Army that had liberated Poland from Nazis. “But, apparently, this fact does not fit into the story of a ‘free Europe’, part of which Poland considers itself.”
The head of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, Alexei Pushkov, ironically commented on the Polish president’s statement, who called the Victory Day Parade in Moscow a “demonstration of force”.
“If one listens to Warsaw, then one day the [Russian] bikers threaten Poland’s security, another day our parade.”
Earlier this week, Poland banned the Russian motorcycle group “Night Wolves” from riding through the country’s territory to Berlin to mark the 70th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazism during World War II.
Boko Haram fighters killed older boys and men in front of their families before taking women and children into the forest where many died of hunger and disease, freed captives told Reuters on Sunday after they were brought to a refugee camp in Yola, Adamawa State. The Nigerian army rescued hundreds of women and children last week from the Islamist fighters in Sambisa Forest in a major operation that has turned international attention to the plight of hostages.
After days on the road in pickup trucks, hundreds were released on Sunday into the care of authorities at a refugee camp in Yola, to be fed and treated for injuries. They spoke to reporters for the first time.
“They didn’t allow us to move an inch,” said one of the freed women, Asabe Umaru, describing her captivity. “If you needed the toilet, they followed you. We were kept in one place. We were under bondage.
“We thank God to be alive today. We thank the Nigerian army for saving our lives,” she added.
Two hundred and seventy-five women and children, some with heads or limbs in bandages, arrived in the camp late on Saturday.
Nearly 700 kidnap victims have been freed from the Islamist group’s forest stronghold since Tuesday, with the latest group of 234 women and children liberated on Friday.
“When we saw the soldiers we raised our hands and shouted for help. Boko Haram who were guarding us started stoning us so we would follow them to another hideout, but we refused because we were sure the soldiers would rescue us,” Umaru, a 24 year-old mother of two, told Reuters.
The prisoners suffered malnutrition and disease, she said. “Every day we witnessed the death of one of us and waited for our turn,” Mrs. Umaru added.
Another freed captive, Cecilia Abel, said her husband and first son had been killed in her presence before the militia forced her and her remaining eight children into the forest.
For two weeks before the military arrived she had barely eaten.
“We were fed only ground dry maize in the afternoons. It was not good for human consumption,” she said. “Many of us that were captured died in Sambisa Forest. Even after our rescue about 10 died on our way to this place.”
Amnesty International estimates the insurgents, who are intent on bringing West Africa under Islamist rule, have taken more than 2,000 women and girls captive since the start of 2014. Many have been used as cooks, sex slaves or human shields.
The prisoners freed so far do not appear to include any of more than 200 schoolgirls snatched from school dormitories in Chibok town a year ago, an incident that drew global attention to the six-year-old insurgency.
Umaru said her group of prisoners never came in contact with the missing Chibok girls.
Meanwhile, the 23 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army based in Yola, Adamawa State, has handed over 275 women and children rescued from insurgents in Sambisa Forest to the National Emergency Management Agency for rehabilitation.
The statement quoted the Commander, 23 Armoured Brigade, Col. Aba Popoola, as saying that “on behalf of the Nigerian Army, I want to hand over 275 rescued women and children that we rescued from Sambisa Forest to the National Emergency Management Agency for care and welfare.”
Receiving the rescued persons, the Director-General, NEMA, Sani Sidi, said the rescued women and children needed special attention and that the agency had made all the necessary arrangements with relevant stakeholders for trauma counselling.
Ghuluze noted that the ministry had ensured regular supply of drugs to the clinics.
Planet Earth is home to over 190 countries in total, possessing a total population of over 7 billion people. While the human race is obviously highly diverse in its cultures, economies, and social norms, what would happen if we ranked each one of these countries based on their ability to make their citizens “happy and smiling”? While obviously a subjective attempt, the Ooduarere has put forth its ranking of the worlds “Happiest Countries” as part of its Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Ever wondered what countries the happiest in the world are? It looks like you’ve came to the right place. The findings are based on reality, Fact finding, low National Debt and number of smiling people in the Nations.
You are surprised right? After arresting Ebola and nailing it down, Nigeria has shown to the world several times that she is capable of taking care of her internal affairs and has now climbed to a 2nd world country. Despite rampant currency inflation in recent years and an unusually low GDP per capita per citizen, this West African country comes in at number 20 on our list.
Home to one of the world’s largest oil reserves, Nigerian people work very hard and the new government plans to use the massive revenues from the sale of petroleum products to provide economic support for its citizens and also tap into other Industries like steel and Agriculture. The country has relatively low external debt which comes at $9bn. There is one thing common among the general masses here, suffering and smiling meaning they are contented with the little they get and it’s always written on their forehead. Meet any Nigerian on the street, he or she will welcome you with a smile. The people here do not spend the money they don’t have (no Massive Credit life).
