Ambode appoints 19 perm secs, sacks 15
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of 19new Permanent Secretaries in the State Public Service.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, the appointments are in line with the Governor’s drive to restructure the civil service for efficient performance and service delivery.

SSS storms PDP National Secretariat - Vanguard News
lingering crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, following a sharp disagreement between the national leadership and staff over plans to reduce the staff strength, their salaries and allowances by 50%, Monday took another twist as men of the Department of State Security Services, DSS stormed Wadata Plaza, National Secretariat of the party.
Men of DSS who were dressed in black, arrived the Secretariat as early as 9am apparently sensing that the aggrieved workers who have been at logger head with the National Working Committee, NWC may cause chaos that may lead to breakdown of law and order, just as they went upstairs where they stayed for over 30 minutes during the meeting between the directors and leaders of the aggrieved workers.
They also went round the premises of the Secretariat and finally went to the National Executive Committee, NEC meeting hall before they finally left, may be with assurances that there was temporary peace.

NAFDAC boss interrogated by EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC today interrogated the Director General of NAFDAC, Paul Orhii, over allegations of fraud. Mr Orhii is being investigated for allegedly awarding contracts to companies he has interest in. He arrived the commission's headquarters in Abuja this morning at about 10am and is currently being interrogated.

Army to review case of soldiers condemned to death for mutiny
The Nigerian Army has ordered a review of the courts-martial of more than 600 soldiers and officers condemned to death for mutiny and deserting the battle against Boko Haram in the North East. AP reports that a statement released signed by army administrator, Maj. Gen. A. B. Abubakar yesterday August 2nd, states that all the accused and condemned soldiers will appear before a committee that will sit and review their cases in Kaduna state from Aug. 7 to Aug. 24. The soldiers had at different times revolted against their commanders over lack of weapons to fight Boko Haram members. Seems like former Chief of Defense Staff Alex Badeh now agrees with them.
Live Drama: Hubby hangs himself after he thought he had killed his wife in Oyo
A 41 year old married man named Ahmed Olanrewaju, hung himself after he thought he had beaten his wife to death following a domestic fight they had at their home yesterday August 2nd. According to police report, Olanrewaju used a sledge hammer to hit his wife on the head. The woman fell unconscious to the ground. After several failed attempts to revive her, Olanrewaju mounted the ceiling of their home and hung himself with a rope. Some neighbors who heard the couple fighting, broke into their house and found the wife unconscious and the man dead from hanging. They rushed the woman to the hospital where she was revived and is responding to treatment. Police officers at Ogbere Division, Ibadan were called in and Olanrewaju's corpse was removed and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy. Investigation is in progress to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
