Presiden Buhari appoints Ibe Kachikwu as new GMD of NNPC, Prof. Danbatta replaces Juwah at NCC



President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Dr. Kachikwu, who was the Executive Vice Chairman and General Counsel of Exxon-Mobil (Africa), will take over from Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha.

Dr. Kachikwu, according to a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina, hails from Onicha-Ugbo in Delta State.
The statement reads: “He is a First Class Graduate of Law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the Nigerian Law School.

“The new NNPC Chief Executive also has Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Law from the Harvard Law School.
“He started his working career with the Nigerian/American Merchant Bank before moving on to Texaco Nigeria Limited from where he joined Exxon-Mobil.
President Buhari has also approved the appointment of Prof. Umaru Garba Danbatta as the new Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
“Prof. Danbatta, who holds a Doctorate Degree in Electronic Engineering, takes over from Dr. Eugene Juwah whose tenure expired on July 29.

“The new NCC Chief Executive’s other academic qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications as well as a Masters Degree in the same field.
“He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and has had a meritorious career in which he rose to become Professor of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at Bayero University, Kano, specializing in Telecommunications Engineering and Information and Communications Technology.
“Before his new appointment, Prof. Danbatta held top management and leadership positions at different times including Head of Department, Dean Of Faculty, Director, Centre for Information Technology, Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (Kano Branch), Deputy Vice Chancellor and Acting Vice Chancellor,” the statement added.

8 killed, many injured in latest Boko Haram raid in Adamawa State

On Sunday night, Boko Haram militants attacked Kulbachuwa village in Madagali LGA of Adamawa State. 8 people were killed and many injured. The revelation was made on yesterday by Emmanuel Tsamdu, the Member representing Madagali in the Adamawa State House of Assembly who spoke with newsmen.

In a statement released yesterday by Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari yesterday ordered the National Planning Commission to go back to the drawing board and produce the framework for the 2016 national budget that will reduce recurrent expenditure and prioritize developmental projects.

Senators, Businessmen, politicians make list of chronic bank debtors

Nigerian Deposit Money Banks on Monday continued with the policy of naming and shaming their delinquent debtors with further publication of the names of firms and their directors whose loans have become non-performing for more than one year.

While nine banks published the names of the loans defaulters on Monday, four banks released the lists of their chronic debtors, owing a total of N143.81bn, on Tuesday. The four banks are First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Access Bank Plc, Diamond Bank Plc and Unity Bank Plc.

A fuel tanker conveying petroleum item was included in a horrendous mishap at Mobil intersection close to Anthony bustop along the occupied Ikorodu street at the beginning of today. Petroleum product spilled everywhere throughout the street however nobody kicked the bucket in the occurrence. They did it to Whitney Houston and now they are doing it to her daughter. Sad! TMZ reports below.. A photo of Bobbi Kristina's body, lying in her casket, has been sold to a media outlet ... and TMZ has learned the bidding soared into the six figures. According to our sources, someone snapped a pic of BK during the viewing, which took place the day before the funeral. We're told the winning offer topped the $100,000 mark. Our sources say members of the Brown and Houston families are blaming each other for the pic, which was snapped despite all the precautionary measures. As TMZ first reported, the Browns were worried the Houstons might pull this stunt, since it happened at Whitney Houston's funeral in 2012.

63-year-old wedded man with three wives, has been discovered dead amid a marathon sex session with his mystery darling, herself a wedded lady.

The man known basically as Baba Ibeji, as indicated by occupants in his Oko-Oba, Lagos home, is said to be so enamored with ladies that he separates and ties new knot at regular intervals.  Baba Ibeji, a landlord in the range and father of 15 kids, as per reports, was discovered dead in an hotel (Mosafuneto) room in the region a few hours after he booked in with the lady whose family used to live in his home till he was found sleeping with the Woman and the family had to pack out.  A bar man in the lodging who did not need his name in print, revealed.

Ex Chief of Defence Staff Badeh Alleges Last Time Weapons were Bought for Nigerian Army was in 2006
