Photos: 4 members of the same family die after entering sewage hole in UAE


Saeed Abdullah Rashid Al Sereidi, 50, his two sons Abdul Aziz Saeed Abdullah, 24 and Ahmad Saeed Abdullah, 23, and son-in-law Mohammad Saeed Rashid, 37, died inside their home’s septic tank while trying to clean the sewage tank.The incident took place in the Rol Dhana area in Fujairah on Saturday, August 29th.

Pakistan, India disagree over detained Nigerian students' intentions

The Pakistani and Indian High Commissioners to Nigeria have disagreed over reports that the two Nigerian students that were arrested in India are on their way to join the terrorist group, Islamic State of Syria and Iraq.

While the Indian High Commissioner, Ajjampur Ghanashyam, insisted that the two youths from Kano, Imran Kabeer and Sani Jamiliu, were on their way to Pakistan to join ISIS, his Pakistani counterpart, Lt. Gen. Agha Farooq (retd.), described the report as false.

Arising from poor sales of his weekly newspaper and magazine, a publisher identified as Solomon (surname withheld), on Friday, allegedly committed suicide in Asaba, Delta State.

It was reliably gathered that the publisher, who resided in Achalla Layout area of Asaba, took his life in anguish following the advent of poor sales in his newspaper business.

A suicide note he allegedly left behind, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent, read, “I cannot stay alive suffering when nobody is helping me. Even my wife and children abandoned me and sales in my newspaper business have been very poor.”

LOLITICS: Gov Fayose Appoints A Carpenter Of Buhari's Age As Local Government Chairman

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has appointed a 72-year-old Carpenter, Mr Olatunde Afolayan as the caretaker chairman of Moba Local Government. Fayose also swore-in members of the State Independent Electoral Commission, headed by a retired Chief Judge of the State, Justice Kayode Bamisile. Afolayan was sworn-in as caretaker chairman of Moba local Government alongside Mrs Omolara Bayode Ayeni and Mr Owolabi Ajewole, who are in charge of Ikole and Ijero Councils respectively. Those earlier appointed by Governor Fayose were said to have resigned. Speaking shortly after swearing-in the appointees, Fayose urged President Muhammadu Buhari to remove Mrs Amina Zakari as the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
