The Group Managing Director of NNPC, Ibe Kachiukwu says there are plans by the oil corporation to sell off refineries that do not meet up the deadline for their rehabilitation. Saudi Arabia on Friday suggested that pilgrims who ignored crowd control rules were responsible for causing a stampede that killed more than 700 people at the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
Millions of Muslims from around the world have traveled to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj, a pilgrimage that all able Muslims must make at some point in their lifetime.
The stampede took place when two large groups of pilgrims collided at a crossroads in Mina, a few miles east of Mecca, on their way to performing the "Stoning of the Devil" ritual at Jamarat, Reuters reported.
Kidnappers Shoot Man After Collecting N30m Ransom
An Abeokuta-based oil magnate, Mr Akeem Lawal, 36, was kidnapped and shot after the kidnappers were paid N30 million as ransom.
The incident happened while he was on his way to his home after the day’s business.
The Ayetoro-born Lawal, who owns Alak Vision Filling Station in Abeokuta North local government area of the state, was reported to have been abducted by a four-man gang of kidnappers around 6:30 pm a few days to his trip to Saudi Arabia for the hajj exercise.

A lady after delivering this baby, put her in a polythene bag and dumped her by the road side. An eye witness said that he saw a lady in that area this afternoon but didn’t know what she’d left behind until she’d gone. The baby was already dead before people noticed what was in the bag.

Fulani Herdsmen Working For Boko Haram – Falae
The former Secretary to Government of the Federation, Olu Falae, has revealed that six Fulani herdsmen kidnapped him on Monday and made him trek 30km from Ilado where he was taken, to Owo.
He also said he was made to sleep in the bush for three days as the kidnappers changed their locations every four hours.

Army Alleges Sabotage By Borno Leaders
The Nigerian Army on Friday raised alarm over plans by “some highly-placed individuals” in the North East, particularly Borno State, to sabotage military operations in the region.
A statement by the army spokesman, Sani Usman, said the elite were bent on having the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists prolonged for their selfish interests.
Mr. Usman, a colonel, did not however state in clear terms the means through which the notable individuals were undermining the war against terrorism or how they would benefit from the insurgency when prolonged.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the public and send a very strong and serious final warning to some prominent individuals and political groups who hailed from Borno State in particular and North East generally, that there is information of plans by some highly placed individuals and political groups to undermine and scuttle the fight against terrorism and insurgency in this country.

Adamawa Governor, Bindow, To Appoint Igbo Adviser
Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state is to appoint an Igbo man as one of his special advisers.
Bindow made this known, on Thursday, while playing host to groups who visited him homage to mark Eid-el-Kabir, in Government House, Yola.
He said that the appointment would demonstrate national unity for all Nigerians, regardless of their socio-cultural background.
According to him, he would appoint an Igbo man as his adviser, owing to the fact his administration must be an inclusive one

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on September 21, 2015 arraigned one Amadi Jude before Justice Emmanuel Obile of the Federal High Court Calabar, Cross River State on a 12-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence. Amadi who goes by different pseudo names – Richard Smith, Mike Anderson, Richard Darwin, Jackson Miller, and Morgan Abela, is alleged to have collected N4,544,000 from a Swedish national, and promised to marry her. Count one reads: “That you, Amadi Jude Junior (alias Richard smith, Mike Anderson, Richard Darwin, Jackson Miller, Morgan Abela) ‘m’, John Ikechukwu Efughi (at large), and Farouk (at large), between May 2014 and January 2015 in Calabar, Cross River State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did conspire among yourselves to commit felony with it: obtaining money by false pretence and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 8 (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under section 1 (3) of the same act.” The accused person pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Lawyer mom arrested inside a courtroom for leaving her two toddlers in the car
A lawyer was arrested after allegedly leaving her children in the car while she was in court. A passerby noticed two toddlers locked inside a car in the Riverdale Municipal Court parking lot around 8:15 a.m. Thursday. The individual went into the courthouse and alerted an officer who checked and found the children were left unattended.

Police arrest couple seen loading their 3 kids into the booth of their car
According to police, John David Harvey, 34, and 19-year-old Adrianna Nordin, were stopped at a convenience store in Torrington, CT. Patrons who called police said they saw three children, two 10-year-olds and an 8-year-old climb into the booth of an Acura, which was then shut behind them.
The couple said there were already five people in the vehicle before the children climbed in. The couple allegedly told police there was no room in the car for the children on the 20-mile ride, so they put them in the booth of the car.
Harvey's lawyer says his client made a 'bad decision'.
The defendants are charged with risk of injury and breach of peace. Both are free on $1,000 bond.
