Olisa Metuh Rushed Back To Hospital


Report has it that the PDP spokesman vomitted several times in his car on his way to the Federal High Court, Abuja on Thursday, May 19.

A source said: “Metuh was rushed to hospital last night. It is serious. He is managing high blood pressure, diabetes and arthritis. The doctor asked him to stay at hospital, but he refused because he wanted to appear in court today. He is just stubborn. He does not want his health to get in the way of his trial.

Four Boys Murdered In Okposi, Ebonyi State (Graphic Photos)


Four boys were allegedly murdered by unknown gunmen on Wednesday morning in Ebony state. Two of the victims hails from Okposi community while two others hails from Ogbidi community. The victims’ names were given as; Okay and Innocent - from Okposi, while Thankgod Igwe and Ochi Ojadi are from Ogbidi community. See photo below

Labor To Review Strike Action Next Week -NLC President

The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, has said the organisation will, by the middle of next week, review the indefinite nationwide strike action it declared on Tuesday night if the government is willing to open more windows of dialogue.


He made this known on Thursday morning while speaking on Political Platform, a Ray Power FM programme, which was monitored in Abuja.

Kaduna APC To Sanction Shehu Sani Over Support For NLC Strike

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kaduna State on Thursday threatened to expel Sen. Shehu Sani for his opposition to the fuel pump price increase. The party’s Acting Publicity Secretary, Mr Salisu Wusono, issued the threat during press conference on Thursday in Kaduna.

An operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has killed a 26-year-old man, Mr. Chukwudi John, after he opened fire on a truck in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday when John, an employee of Dompec Global Resources Limited, was returning from Abak Local Government Area in the state, where he and his colleagues had gone to supply goods.

Militants Disrupted My Plans, Says Fashola.

Babatunde Fashola, minster of power, works and housing, has lamented the effect of the activities of the Niger Delta militants.
Speaking on Wednesday at a forum organised by NAN, the minister said after the announcement of 5,000 mega watts of electricity earlier in the year, the ministry was about launching into a new phase.
He explained that the nation’s power generating capacity had reached 5,000 megawatts before the recent vandalism of gas pipelines.
“The only reason I announced 5,000 this year that we have reached this bus-stop; because I was already heading to another bus-top, until we had the outages and blow up at the Chevron platform,” he said.

Weapons for Kiev, Troops for Europe: US Congress Okays New 'Defense' Budget

The US House of Representatives has voted to grant the Pentagon its request for $3.4 billion military funding for Europe, thanks to spurious claims of Russian aggression.


On Wednesday the US House of Representatives voted 277-147 to pass the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act, which authorizes the Pentagon to spend $610 billion next year.
The bill, which is still subject to approval from the US President, includes $3.4 billion for military forces in Europe.

EgyptAir Plane Debris Found Near Greek Island of Crete

Possible debris from the missing EgyptAir plane has been found off a Greek island, according to the Greek Army.  Signs of the possible wreckage were found Thursday off the Greek island of Crete during the search for the EgyptAir flight that went missing above the Mediterranean, according to a Greek military spokesman.

Okupe confirms Jonathan paid Metuh N400m..said amount came from ex-president’s N21bn campaign funds

The former Senor Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr Doyin Okupe, told Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja on Wednesday that Jonathan confirmed to him that he gave the sum of N400 million to Chief Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP.

He said the amount was to enable Metuh carry out the much desired image and pulbic perception enhancement for the former President before his public declaration ahead of the 2015 general election.

Senator Shehu Sani has slammed members of the Nigeria Labor Congress that opted out of the strike action by NLC against the ‎recent increase in petrol. In a statement released today May 18th, Sani cautioned against blackmailing labor members who are against their position on the removal of oil subsidy. Part of his statement reads;

A 28-year-old man, Adamu Mai Bisco, on Monday night allegedly killed his parents and two sisters in Potiskum, Yobe State.

Police confirmed the incident.

Spokesman Toyin Gbadegesin said the suspect used a shovel to kill the victims while they were asleep.
“He was not provoked before carrying out the dastardly act.”

FG tells workers "You must go to work today, no work no pay" despite lNLC's threat to continue with strike,

FACTIONAL President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, has said his faction will not take part in the planned strike called by the Congress to protest the fuel price hike.
