Femi Fani-Kayode: The Sack Of Sheriff, A Breathe Of Fresh Air For Our Party..
By Femi Fani-Kayode
The sack of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the chairman of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, came to me as a very big relief.
The sack was long overdue as we had always maintained that Sheriff had no business being the chairman in the first place. Although we were maligned by some party members and citizens alike for insisting that Sheriff must go as he was bad news for the PDP, his sack at the Port Harcourt convention has justified our stand.

Amazing stuff on Russian state TV
Boris Johnson gives the Russians a case of hysterical laughing
When I first heard that the ex-Mayor of London Boris Johnson had won an anti-Erdogan insult competition I was not too interested. But when I saw that this was reported on the hyper-official “Weekly News with Dmitri Kilesev” I was quite amazed. But when Kiselev then visually showed the original English language limerik I was amazed. Kiselev was careful to specify that he was acting according to the letter of the regulations of the Roscomnadzor, the Russian media regulatory agency he then showed the original English text full screen.

Not by Jets Alone: This is the Secret to Russia's Success in Syria
At a time when perception is as important as achievements, Russia has accomplished both in Syria. Its engagement was instrumental in turning the tide of the war, while its "well-coordinated media campaign," as the National Interest put it, has effectively highlighted Moscow's military and diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the crisis.
Some have called this holistic approach "hybrid warfare," even though this term does not accurately describe Russian activities in the war-torn country.

These Six Facts Expose the American Military’s Coming Collapse
Mounting evidence presented by high-ranking US military officials to the United States’ Congress make it clear that the American army, once a powerful might backing Washington’s policies around the world, is now slowly, but surely, unraveling.
According to The National Interest, the gradual decrease in military spending by a whopping 25 percent over the last five years has led to erosion of the American armed forces. The news outlet made a chart of six top revelations by military authorities that point to the horrifying scale of problems the nation’s army is now facing.

Putin Has Made Strong Leadership a 'Trend' Across the Globe
The Donald Trump phenomenon is nothing but a part of the global tendency that started to form in 2012 when Vladimir Putin was elected President of Russia for a third term, according to a US journalist Gideon Rachman.
Since Putin's election, international policy has seen a return of strong and powerful leaders such as Xi Jinping, Erdogan and Orban, the columnist noted in his piece for The Financial Times.
Although many fail to take Trump seriously, his rise is simply a consequence of a global tendency following Putin, Rachman believes.

Russia on the Way to Breakthrough in Developing High-Speed Helicopter
Flight tests of Russia’s high-speed helicopter demonstrator are scheduled to start in June. Just as promised, the rotorcraft will accelerate to a record 450 km/h, Rossiiskaya Gazeta wrote.
The next stage of flight tests slated for later this year will see attempts to reach an all-time speed record of 500 km/h.
High-speed helicopters are also being tested in the US and Western Europe. Not everything is going smoothly there, of course, but their helicopters can fly at stable speeds of around 400 km/h and Russia can’t afford to fall behind.

The 17-year-old housemaid, Rhoda, who accused her Lebanese boss, a chef with a prominent Lagos hotel, Hassan Ali Husseini, of molesting her while working for him, has put to bed.

that the child was fathered by Husseini.
It will be recalled that Husseini had denied that the he raped Rhoda, but that the sexual contact they had was consensual.

Barber Drinks To Death In Lagos Over N10,000
Thursday, May 12, 2016, started like any other day for Prosper Oyinfade, a 34-year-old native of Abeokuta, Ogun State. A professional barber and part-time bodyguard at social events and major night clubs within the Lagos metropolis, the young man worked tirelessly to support his small family – a wife and two sons. Waking up very early each morning in search of ‘bread’ for the entire household, the Abeokuta native barely enjoys maximum sleep as a result of his workaholic nature. The upkeep and survival of his family occupied a prime position on his mind.
