The rules of the (Trump) game
by Pepe Escobar for Sputnik International
Gen. James “Mad Dog” Mattis, chosen by President-elect Donald Trump to be the new head of the Pentagon, is a model functionary of the Empire of Chaos. His call sign is – what else – “chaos”. The Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC) even shared his regular accolade; “Saint Mattis of Quantico, Patron Saint of Chaos”. The Saint in his pop incarnation comes fully equipped with a grenade and a knife.

Who are the Sunnis? A Lamentation
by Anwar Khan
As I sit to answer this I am gripped by a state of unexpected indetermination as what I thought to be a painless task has become rather difficult. Painless because I can simply translate a passage from one of the hundreds of manuals on Sunni creed—where defining Sunnism is a run of a mill standard procedure. Additionally, the relative homogeneity of the content on this subject matter by Sunni writers— for well over a millennium— makes the work further free from complication(1).

Goodbye Fidel
by Jimmie Moglia
“He was a man, take him for all in all,
I shall not look upon his like again.”
I shall not look upon his like again.”
Hamlet, act 1, sc. 2
For many across the world, the death of Fidel Castro strikes us with an obscure sensation, like that which would be felt from the sound of darkness. And though expected, there was an indistinct unuttered hope that this news could be postponed to a future yet undated and unnamed. But,
“… all that lives must die,
Passing through nature to eternity” (1)
In some European countries, newspaper articles written before the death of some important figure, are called “crocodiles”, lumping together those lamenting or rejoicing at that death, whenever it may occur.
Lenin comes to the White House
by Pepe Escobar for Sputnik International
Donald Trump, commenting on the passing of Fidel Castro, branded him a mere “dictator”. Whatever the long-lasting results (and mistakes) of the Cuban experiment, History has already de facto recognized Fidel as one of the great revolutionary leaders of the modern – and post-modern – era.
Trump – historical irony obliges – also has all but christened the groundswell of anger that delivered him the White House as a “revolution” – led by, and in the name of, white, non-college educated, blue collar US masses.
Bait & Switch- Fake News, propornot, the Real Inform & Influence Operation
by GH Eliason
A few days before the 2016 election I contacted several publishers and told them they were on a list to be dealt with/ taken down after what was supposed to be a Clinton victory. This effort was against news sites and websites that spoke or wrote against current US policies that Clinton supported. As I was writing this Glen Greenwald’s great article came out specifically about propornot. That plays a small part in this.

What are the Ukronazis up to in Crimea?
This article was written for the Unz Review: http://www.unz.com/tsaker/what-are-the-ukronazis-up-to-in-crimea/
First, it appeared to be a fluke: this summer the Ukronazi regime sent a small terrorist unit into Crimea tasked with blowing up several targets in the Crimea (see here for details). They were arrested by the Russian security services. In November, another two saboteurs were caught by the FSB (see here). And now something really remarkable happened. The Ukronazi security service kidnapped two Russian citizens in broad daylight and accused them of being “deserters”.

How Fidel Castro evaded CIA’s assassination attempts
I have often wondered how Fidel Castro unlike many others have evaded the attempts to end his life by the CIA and others, and also his love for Africa. Till date there have been over 600 attempts to end Castro’s life, none of which materialised. One most memorable attempt was when his ex-girlfriend was asked to poison Fidel using a cream she was given. But she ended up confessing what she was sent to do to him.
Another Brick in the Wall: Mexican Company to Help Trump Secure the Border
Owner of a Mexican cement company expressed his desire to provide cement for the US President-elect’s effort to secure the border between the two countries from the onslaught of rife organized crime.
Kristian Rouz – "I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words," US President-elect Donald Trump used to reiterate night after night when on his electoral campaigning trail during the past several months.
Russia SITREP November 24th, by Scott Humor
Earlier this week the German Stern asked a tongue-in-cheek question which I want to try to answer.
I don’t know German, but this looks to me like they want to know why Moscow needs so many tanks.

Wladimir Putin hat bereits 2500 T-14 Armata Kampfpanzer bestellt, nun lässt er noch einmal 3000 T-80 komplett modernisieren. Fragt sich nur: Was will Moskau mit so vielen Panzern?

People wake up!
by Peter Koenig
Neoliberal-fascist atrocities become rapidly ever bolder and are carried out with impunity. They should wake up the 99.99% from our brainwashed dreams and make us SCREAM! – Scream for change, not at the margin, but fundamental. This apparatus has to stop, not just be ‘reformed’ as the caviar ‘left intellectuals’ suggest. Absurdities have to be eviscerated. Our socio-economic system needs rebuilding from scratch. Washington has shown us again on 8 November that they offer only the choice between risking nuclear annihilation of humanity and total corporate privatization of our lives and our live services that we, the people, have created. The latter means impoverishment and enslavement to corporations for the majority of the population. It is a choice between the Satan and Lucifer.

President Trump and other geo-political oddities, by Scott Humor
Donald Trump has won the presidential election despite polls that indicating that Hillary Clinton was favored. One popular explanation for this is that some people were too afraid to admit to pollsters that they supported Trump — what’s being called the “shy Trump” phenomenon. A review of the evidence, however, suggests that probably isn’t why the polls got Trump wrong.
“Shy Trump voters started to come out of the woodwork during the course of the election,” said Matthew Oczkowski, director of product for Cambridge Analytica.
Special Report: Hezbollah’s Mechanized Battalion in Syria
by Marko Marjanović (deputy editor and writer for Russia Insider. He has contributed to The Voluntaryist Reader, The Libertarian Liquidationist and published the Crappy Town blog. Check out his new project, Checkpoint Asia.)
World’s most powerful non-state military is no longer an infantry force only
On November 11th Hezbollah held a military parade in al-Qusayr — a Syrian town that is just across the border from the largely Shia northern Bekaa Valley and that was the scene of Hezbollah’s first major battle in the Syria, and its first major success.
