Russia Unveils T-14 Armata: Most Powerful Tank in the World in Details

 

The new Russian T-14 Armata Main Battle Tank (MBT) will likely steal the show at the 2015 Moscow Victory Parade on May 9.

 

The Russian Ministry of Defense officially revealed the country’s most advanced battle tank, the T-14 Armata Main Battle Tank (MBT), arguably the world’s deadliest armored fighting vehicle, a couple of weeks ahead of the grand 2015 Moscow Victory Day Parade.

The new T-14 and the rest of Russia’s new armored vehicles show a huge technological leap from the old Soviet-era military hardware.

“The new vehicles are principally clean-slate designs and represent the biggest change in Russia’s armored fighting vehicle families since the 1960s and 1970s,” HIS Jane’s 360 Defense Weekly reported.

The key feature of the new tank is its unmanned remotely-controlled turret, with crew members seated in an armored capsule at the front of the tank’s hull.

The T-14 is armed with a 125 mm smoothbore cannon that can fire high-powered munitions, including armor-piercing discarding sabot projectiles, guided missiles, shaped-charges and other types of munitions. The muzzle energy of the tank’s cannon is greater than that of the German Leopard-2 Rheinmetall 120 mm gun, according to the Diplomat.

It is speculated that the Armata tank might also come with a 152 mm gun. If this is true, the tank will have the most powerful cannon ever mounted on a main battle tank. The T-14 will also carry a 30-mm sub-caliber gun to shoot down low-flying aerial targets, including planes and helicopters. To defend against incoming anti-tank missiles, the T-14 will have a 12.5 mm turret-mounted heavy machine gun, RT said.

The Armata is literally a one tank army. The T-14 can defend itself from pretty much anything. Even the most modern Apache helicopter would not have a 100 percent chance of destroying the tank with its missiles, the US Foreign Military Studies Office (FSMO) said.

To finish all of that, the tank has fully automated ammunition loading and computerized targeting systems. Despite all the guns and computerized technology built into the armored vehicle, the menacing tank only needs two servicemen to operate it.

The Armata tank is set to undergo state trials in 2016, Uralvagonzavod is expected to supply over 2,300 of the new tanks to the Russian military by 2020. The Armata tanks will replace the older T-72 and T-90 tanks.

Two days ago, a staff of V.I.O (vehicle examination office) trying to stop a moving auto, jumped into the auto and started dragging the steering  with the driver, who then lost control of the auto.


The auto veered off the street smashed down a vale there. The auto summersaulted severally before landing opposite the Fed service of works in Abuja. Fortunately the driver and the VIO staff were safeguarded alive and were raced to the clinic due to the serious wounds they sustained. Is this how they train these V.I.O staff to stop autos? Na wah oh !

2 soldiers dead as ammunitions explode in Plateau earlier today

Two Nigerian soldiers have been affirmed dead while one was truly wounded after some unservisable ammo went off while being obliterated close to the 3rd Armored Division garisson barracks at Bassa Local Government Area on April 25th.

Talking on the scene, the representative for the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman said the unservicable ammo were being obliterated close to a bush when they went off. He exposed cases that the blast was caused by individuals from the revolt bunch, Boko Haram.

A supporter of Buhari, known as Abubakar Duduwale , has set for a trek  from Yola in Adamawa to Abuja.  He told newsmen in Yola on Saturday at the onset of the walk that the reason behind the long walk was to express his delight over the emergence of Buhari as president-elect


Duduwale, from Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa and Chamba by tribe, reportedly began the journey at Yola Gate on Yola-Numan highway at about 6:30 a.m.

Anytime I wake up in the morning, I will hear a voice saying “what’s your duty on earth? How many people know about Ifa? What’s your responsibility in this world?” My responsibility is to make sure that the whole world know about Ifa and it’s message to mankind.

Governorship results: Okorocha wins in Imo, Ikpeazu clears the floor in Abia

Incumbent Governor Rochas Okorocha of APC has been pronounced champ of the governorship race in Imo state in the wake of beating his main rival, Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha of PDP.


Okorocha polled 416,996 votes while Ihedioha got 320,705 in the re-run decisions that held yesterday.

In Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of PDP won by beating APGA applicant, Dr. Alex Otti, previous MD of Diamond Bank. Ikpeazu polled 264,713 votes to Otti’s 180,882.
