Life after sexual abuse !

I am living proof that anyone can turn things around. From a nadir of emotions in which I struggled with abuse and resentment, I have willed myself to focus on the strength I possess and the fact that I alone can determine how my life turns out.

My father was a business man, and my mother a full house wife. Her whole life was dedicated to taking care of us and protecting us and she was in fact overprotective of us because we were all girls. But I have now realized over the years that you cannot always be there for a child, and no one has control over an abuse.

Gowon: A man of peace @80

General Yakubu Gowon, Nigeria’s second military ruler (1966-1975) had the singular distinction of being the country’s youngest ruler at 32. He had ruled the country for nine years and was yet to be 41 when he was overthrown by some of the officers who had put him in office. In spite of his relatively young age, he was blessed with wisdom that enabled him to successfully pilot the affairs of the nation at its most critical period.

Gowon’s place in Nigeria’s history can be seen and judged from three perspectives: the events preceding the advent of the military in 1966 up to the overthrow of the first military ruler, the nine years of his rule and the post-Gowon era up to the present day.

Hard to believe but that is what Italian media reported this week...haha. An unidentified Italian couple had to be rushed to the hospital this week after their genitals got stuck together while having sex in the sea at Porto San Giorgio in the Marche region of Italy

Boko Haram Breaks Ceasefire Agreement, Kills Dozens In Borno

It Is Revealed That Late Taiwo Oshadipe Was single & Baby Daddy Is A Secret

On Wednesday 15th October late gospel singer Taiwo Oshadipe was laid to rest at the Victoria Court Vaults (Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos) in a short ceremony devoid of any fanfare with no entertainers at the one-hour burial ceremony. In attendance were her twin Kehinde, siblings Bukola & Idowu and her 14-month-old son Obama.

According to Report, her twin Kehinde who wore all white and kept her grief covered with sunglasses, was inconsolable and had to be held throughout the 1-hour ceremony. She kept saying, ‘Taiwo, Taiwo, Why did you leave me?’

Mass failure at Nigerian Law School as over 3,000 students fail bar exam

Apparently there was mass failure at the Nigerian Law School this year. The Nigerian Law School recently released the 2013/2014 August result, and it was a Tsunami. Out of the 5,000 candidates who registered, only about 2,000 passed. Meaning that about 3,000 students failed the bar exam, the highest failure the Nigerian Law School has witnessed since its 50 years of existence.

Many of the students are angry and frustrated. They say they don't believe the mass failure is the fault of the students and are now asking for a review of their results. An affected student who reached out to us said; Continue...
