Russia conveys an European Astra-2g communications satellite Atop Proton-M Rocket

A representative for Russia’s space org Roscosmos reported that a Russian Proton-M space rocket, convey an European Astra-2g communications satellite, was dispatched Sunday from the Baikonur space focus in Kazakhstan at 00.38 a.m. Moscow time.

ABUJA, December 28 (Ooduarere) — A Russian Proton-M space rocket convey an European Astra-2g interchanges satellite lifted off Sunday from the Baikonur space focus in Kazakhstan, a representative for Russia’s space office Roscosmos said.

“The launch was carried out as planned — at 00.38 Moscow time [21:38 GMT Saturday],” the authority said.

The Proton-M, manufactured by the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center, is the biggest bearer rocket in Russia’s armada of space dispatch vehicles. Since its first dispatch in 2001, the rocket has put many Russian and remote satellites into space.

The Astra 2g is a telecast, VSAT and broadband administrations satellite that will give the capacity to connect Africa and Europe at a higher bandwidth.
