The Federal Government is proposing to spend N517.9m on dinners and refreshments for the Presidency, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, ministries of power and petroleum and also their parastatals.
The sum is contained in the points of interest of the 2015 budget breakdown, which was acquired by Punch journalists in Abuja on Sunday.

Nigerian Choir Breaks Guinness World Record
The Akwa Ibom State choral gathering has broken the world record for the biggest number of Christmas song artists on the planet.
The record, which has been formally ensured by the Guinness World Records and stuck on its site, www.guinessworldrecords.com, was broken by the solidarity choir, a 25,272 man-choral gathering, in a show in the Uyo Township Stadium on Saturday, December 13, 2014 with Guinness World Records agents in participation.
The new record beats the previous one which recorded 15,674 song artists, in December, 2013 by a gathering known as CENTI in Bogota, Columbia.

Revelations that worshippers at the headquarters of Christ Embassy Church in Lagos had to pay N1,000 each as gate fee to attend a New Year’s Eve service presided over by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome have shocked many Nigerians and infuriated others.
Worshippers who wanted to attend the crossover service at Christ Embassy’s headquarters on Billings Way in Oregun Area of Lagos on 31 December, 2014, were made to obtain gate passes that sold for N1,000 each.
Those who could not afford such passes were turned back and told that they could go elsewhere to worship or watch the service online for free.

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka: "I've Been Receiving Threat Messages, But Tell Them I’m Not Afraid"
Enugu Catholic cleric and originator of the Adoration Ministry, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka yesterday while giving a sermon at the Christ the King Catholic Parish GRA, Enugu, yesterday said he has been getting danger messages after his Dec. 31st, message where he asked Nigerians to vote President Jonathan out.
Be that as it may says if the dangers had moved him, he won’t be remaining in their vicinity and lecturing. His words;

In a meeting with Thisday daily paper, the CBCN President, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigam, said that Fr Mbaka’s comments does not speak to the position of the Catholic Church in Nigeria. He said that Fr Mbaka was only one out of the 30million catholic faithfuls in Nigeria and that the position of the Catholic church on any matter of National essentialness is conveyed just through the CBCN.
In a related improvement, the Catholic Bishop of Abuja Metropolitan, Cardinal John Onaiyekan has said that given the standards of the Catholic church, Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka should be sanctioned after his comments about President Goodluck Jonathan’s organization.
