45 Year Old Woman Jailed For Pouring Hot Water On Her Husband

An FCT Area Court in Lugbe, on Thursday sentenced a housewife, Owolati Laide, 45, to three months imprisonment for pouring hot water on her husband. The convict who lives at Goesse Village, Airport Road Abuja, was sentenced on a one-count charge of “causing hurt on provocation.’’

The Judge, Mr Gambo Garba, however, gave Laide an option of N5, 000 fine.
According to the judge, the court is being lenient because of her six- month old baby.
Garba said the punishment would have been more severe if the convict had not pleaded guilty and saved the court the pains of protracted prosecution.

The Chibok Girls Are Alive! - President Goodluck Jonathan reveals

President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that the Chibok who are  more  than 200 kidnapped by Boko Haram from their hostel at the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State, are still alive.


The president revealed this within an interview with the African Independent Television in a current affairs programme, Kaakaki earlier today

In accordance with Punch, the President’s declare that girls were still being kept by Boko Haram contradicted Abubakar Shekau’s statement in a video released in October 2014 to the media he said he had allegedly  married off the pupils. In a prior statement, the group’s leader had threatened to market girls as slave brides

Jonathan argued that if the schoolgirls have been killed, the Boko Haram insurgents’commander, Shekau, would have released a video showing how they girls were murdered.  Based on the President, the Nigerian security forces may also be wary of storming the key stronghold of the terrorists since they fear the insurgents may utilize the girls as shields.

    He explained, “Because they may use them as shields so we are working with the global best practices. We can’t just move in with artillery and clear the place. The good story is that they’ve not been killed. They are still alive because when terrorists kill they display.”

The President however contradicted his assertion, during his Monday interview with the cable TV news channel, Al Jazeera that the Federal Government didn’t mishandle the Boko Haram insurgency, claiming that the insecurity problem didn’t start during his tenure.

President Goodluck Jonathan said, “At the beginning, we did not really estimate the capacity of Boko Haram. But over the years they continued to build their capacity with links with other terrorist groups. I believe we’ve got up to 65 per cent of what is needed to prosecute this war.”

He added that the military force was winning the war contrary to the insurgents, noting that only Madagali still remains underneath the control of the terrorist group in Adamawa State.

     “People will want to go back when they no longer hear stories of Boko Haram invasion. We launched the Victims’ Support Fund to aid in rehabilitating them. The Victims’ Support Fund is not managed directly by government but by the private sector,” the President stated.

After months of Divorce Saga, Pastor Chris & Anita Reportedly Share Their Children

Months following the separation of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the founder of Christ Embassy Church and his wife, Pastor Anita, the estranged couple have reportedly shared their two children.


While Sharon, the eldest, prefers Pastor Chris, Charlene is presently with Anita. Anita had this past year April approached a London court, seeking a divorce on the causes of adultery among several allegations.

The suit, number FDI 4001650, was filed on her behalf behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors on April 9, 2014 at the Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, United Kingdom. Pastor Chris was served the divorce letters in his college accommodation during one of his true visits to the UK. Efforts to get in touch with the camp of Pastor Chris yesterday evening proved abortive.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, had then denied the allegations leveled against him by Anita and even threatened to sue media houses for damaging his name and Church.  Last September, a record by his counsel, Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), described the allegation as “wicked and malicious”, and an endeavor to make Pastor Chris “to public opprobrium and ridicule.”

Pinheiro said the adultery allegation “currently circulating in the media was just an entire distortion of facts in the pending proceedings in the United Kingdom

The lawyer warned media establishments to verify the authenticity of the stories before publication, saying his counsel would take appropriate legal actions against them to safeguard Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s reputation and that of the church Business.

Born on March 4, 1947, Hajia Mariam Sani Abacha. She’s the widow of the former Military Head of State, Late General Sani Abacha, who died in June 1998.
