APC Set to drag 1st Lady to International Criminal Court

APC says it’s concluded plans to drag the 1st Lady Patience Jonathan earlier to the International Criminal Court over her recent remarks at the PDP Presidential campaign rally in Calabar, Cross Rivers state where she called on visitors to stone anybody who chanted Change around them.

The APC said Mrs Jonathan’s comment was calling on PDP supporters in their state to attack members of the APC. The party likened Mrs Jonathan to the former 1st Lady of Cote d’Ivoire, Mrs Laurent Gbagbo who was simply indicted by the ICC over matters bothering on election crisis in 2010 during her husband’s re-election

“Change, as the entire country knows by now, is the slogan of the APC – the rallying cry of a political party that wishes to bring hope of greater and better things to come for Nigeria and Nigerians. “By her statement, Mrs. Jonathan was clearly calling on the PDP supporters in Calabar to attack supporters and campaigners of the APC in the state.

Mrs. Jonathan does not occupy any formal office in the Nigerian government as the position of the First Lady is not recognised by the Nigerian constitution. But Mrs. Gbagbo’s case shows the ICC’s awareness of how someone beyond formal governmental and military hierarchies can be identified as responsible for serious international crimes. Patience Jonathan’s incontrovertible hate speech not only contravened the laws of the land, but also went completely against the Abuja peace accord jointly signed by the two presidential candidates, Muhammadu Buhari and President Goodluck Jonathan – a gesture which is aimed at forestalling violence before, during and after the 2015 elections.

The PDP supporters in the state, who may not know better, could easily yield themselves to the First Lady’s admonition and embark on a process of wanton stoning and other attacks against the APC members.”the party said

The party says the letter to the ICC is signed by the APC Presidential Campaign Director and Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Ameachi and could be forwarded to the ICC today March 9th. Additionally it stated that the Inspector General of the Police and the National Human Rights Commission would also be sent copies of the letter.

As Peace Talks Fail, AU Blames US, UK for South Sudan Crisis

© AP Photo/ Ben Curtis, File

By supporting South Sudan’s independence from Sudan, the US, UK and Norway created conditions for the ongoing civil war in the world’s youngest country, allege leaked documents from an inquiry by the African Union.

In 2005, the US, UK and Norway pushed through a peace deal, which legitimized the South Sudanese rebels, and paved the way in which for the country’s independence in 2011.

According to a draft of the African Union inquiry obtained by Reuters, what of the Western powers helped establish “a politically unchallenged armed power in South Sudan” that acted with impunity and legitimized “rule of the gun.”

At the very least 10,000 people have now been killed and another 1.5 million displaced since July 2013 when fighting began between the forces loyal to South Sudanese President Salva Kiir, and the militants led by his sacked deputy Riek Machar.

The findings of the inquiry were to be presented to the African Union’s Peace and Security Council in late January, but it absolutely was decided the document could be shelved.

According to a Reuters source, it absolutely was done due to concerns the publication may disrupt talks aimed at forming a transitional government in South Sudan, which are underway between Kiir and Machar.

After negotiations broke down just as before Friday, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, who’s serving as mediator, said both parties were failing in their duty to find peace.

The inquiry suggested that South Sudan’s president and his rival must certanly be barred from the transitional government, and the nation should effectively be placed under African Union control for a period of time of five years.

The investigation, led by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, stated that Kiir and Machar are responsible for the political crisis in December 2013 and “the organized massacres and the large-scale violence that followed.”

Officials from the US, UK and Norway said which they won’t comment on the document, that they haven’t seen.

“I believe the investigation that the African Union has begun and the commission’s position, it takes to be manufactured public,” Borge Brende, Norway’s Foreign Minister, told NRK broadcaster.

Washington, London and the UN Security Council all support the decision to make the inquiry public, as well.

Until losing confidence in him in late 2013, Washington supported Kiir, hoping he could oversee a well balanced, oil-producing, majority Christian state allied to the West, as opposed to the neighboring Muslim-led Sudan, that will be hostile to Washington.

Russia's Commitment to Multi-Polar World Challenges US World wide Hegemon.

Russia’s strong determination to guard its national interests and promote a multi-polar world order has dealt a serious blow to Washington’s aspirations to rule the entire world, American publicist Mike Whitney noted.
putin1
Ekaterina Blinova — Russia’s determination to protect its national interests and pursue an unbiased foreign policy, regardless of Western pressure, is viewed by Washington as an “unforgivable crime,” according to Mike Whitney.

In February 2007 during his famous speech at the 43rd Munich Security Conference Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the course of American foreign policy, providing a comprehensive analysis of the devastating consequences of US interventionism and its negative impact on global security.

President Putin also denounced the unipolar model as unacceptable, impossible and contradictory the core values of modern civilization: “This really is pernicious not just for dozens of within this technique, but also for the sovereign itself since it destroys itself from within,” he warned, pledging his commitment to a multi-polar world.

American publicist Mike Whitney underscored that President Putin’s candid observation left a strong impression on US policy-makers, who thought that by prevailing in the Cold War the United States became the sole super-power in a brand new “Washington-centric” global system. “Now they knew that Putin would not dance to Washington’s tune,” the publicist stressed.

Russia’s firm determination to pursue an unbiased foreign policy has been viewed by Washington as an “unforgivable crime,” that poses a critical challenge to American global hegemony.

To date, the United States has signaled it goes to deal with this “problem” by any means necessary, including economic sanctions, a Washington-backed military coup in Ukraine, a conspiracy to crash oil prices, an attack against the ruble and a proxy-war in Donbas region using neo-Nazi fighters.

Numerous false flag operations aimed to discredit the Russian president and to drive a wedge between Moscow and its European partners will also be getting used by Washington in order to shake up Russia’s political system, the publicist pointed out.

“Now the Pentagon is planning to send 600 paratroopers to Ukraine ostensibly to “train the Ukrainian National Guard,” a critical escalation that violates the spirit of the next Minsk 2 and which calls for a proportionate response from the Kremlin,” noted Mike Whitney, stressing that “the US doesn’t have red lines in regards to achieving its strategic goals.”

To date, Whitney suggested that the murder of Boris Nemtsov, an agent of the Kremlin’s opposition, has been carried out as a component of a bigger regime change scheme, directed to provoke social unrest in Russia and destabilize the government. The publicist noted that the US has practiced this kind of scenario in various color-coded revolutions before and stressed that shortly after Nemtsov was killed in Moscow,  western media sources unanimously pointed the accusing finger to the Kremlin regardless of the very fact they’d no evidence to support their claims.

The publicist reminded that the United States has repeatedly used similar tactics putting pressure on Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, Syria and countless other nations to cause them to “march in lockstep” to the directives of the White House.

However, regardless of this pressure, Russia has withstood NATO encirclement and Washington’s attempts “to loot Russia’s natural resources” as well as to alter the configuration of international security by implementing elements of the US nuclear capability in Europe. Resisting further eastward expansion of NATO, Russia in addition has blocked Washington’s Asia pivot strategy aimed to undermine the Russian Federation, encircle China, maintain control over Eurasia’s resources flow and establish the unipolar hegemony of the United States, Whitney emphasized.

Josephine took the bag to the security post at the airport for an announcement to be made for the owner to come forward & collect it, which was done.

I wasn't Trying to Seduce President Jonathan - Seyi Shay speaks on the controversial dress

Artist Seyi Shay says she had no aim of alluring the president when she wore the short dress to sing and welcome the President at the MeetThePresident Youth occasion in Lagos last Saturday.
seyi_shay

“I am a very respectable young lady and I was not in any way trying to seduce the President with the outfit I wore. I had two outfits for the event, one was for my performance and the other was worn after I performed. The dress I was pictured in with the President was what I wore during my performance. I came on stage and greeted everyone according to their culture and I did the same for Mr. President. He was impressed and he asked where and how I knew how to greet in his native dialect and I said I learnt it. That was what brought about the giggling and smiles in the picture. I’m a performer and what I do on stage doesn’t reflect my everyday life. I had two outfits on that day and it was a youth event. Who wouldn’t feel overwhelmed meeting the President? Well, I did and I felt honoured because it is not every day you get to meet the president of your country,” she told Punch.
