It is sheer cowardice for a man of his stature to have remained in a political party to which he was openly disloyal merely out of fear of losing the position of Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives which he attained because he was of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Tambuwal's treachery manifested early. He conspired with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria to ensure that a Yoruba person did not become the Speaker in line with the PDP's zoning arrangement.
It is utter cowardice for Tambuwal to wait till just a few months to the end of the fourth year of his tenure to switch political parties even when he had been hobnobbing with the opposition All Progressives Congress all the while.
It is acute cowardice for Tambuwal to have used the Majority Leader of the Federal House of Representatives to move the motion for adjournment till December, 2014, when the House resumed not too long ago from a long vacation and the Sallah break, only to announce his exit from the PDP to the APC before he hit his gavel to give effect to the motion for adjournment.
Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has shown the stuff he is made of: he is a featherweight. He has no character. He has no integrity. He is a disgrace to the Legislature. He is no leader.
I hope the good people of Sokoto State reject him at the polls and stop his ambition to be their Governor. Our polity should be rid of his ilk.
