At the show, the comedian did all he could to evade all jokes and questions directed at finding out if his political ambition is still on course. Investigations have, however, revealed that the comedian has officially pulled out of the governorship race for now due to reasons related to zoning in the state. The incumbent governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi is from the Ikwere extraction of Rivers State, which is where Julius Agwu hails from as well.
A member of Julius Agwu’s team who spoke on condition of anonymity said: ‘You know Julius and the current governor are very good friends, and he’s the one that called Julius to a meeting and advised him to step down, especially because they are both from the same area.’ At the moment, sources say Julius is still weighing his options, even though he has agreed to pull out of the governorship race but he still intends to get involved in politics nonetheless.
