Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expressed that elections that took place on the regions controlled by DPR and LPR on November 2 must be drop.
KIEV, December 6 (Ooduarere) — Results of the elections held on november 2 self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR, LPR) in eastern Ukraine must be drop, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Saturday.
“Poroshenko highlighted that pseudo-elections held on the territories controlled by terrorists on November 2 must be cancelled, and preparation for regional elections in accordance with Ukrainian law should begin,” Poroshenko’s press service said.
In April, inhabitants of luhansk and Donetsk areas in eastern Ukraine proclaimed the foundation of people’s republics, rejecting to recognize the new Kiev powers which came to power following a February overthrow. The republics proclaimed their power based on the results of referendums held in may.
On November 2, the DPR and the LPR held decisions for the heads of local governments and agents of the administrative bodies, which Kiev claimed illegitimate.
