LAGOS, January 19 (Ooduarere) — BBC moderator Jo Coburn has apologized to the Russian TV slot RT for erroneously blaming one for the channel’s writers of talking her own dad.

The allegation was made on January 8 when the program’s host Andrew Neil expressed that the writer talked with her dad “live on air”. As per RT, the announcement was raised as “stunning case of poor news coverage at RT, and as a state of ridicule against the channel”.

“On last Thursday’s show, in an interview with Afshin Rattansi, a presenter from the RT news channel Russia Today, we wrongly suggested that a reporter from the channel, Anastasia Churkina, had interviewed her father, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin. We now understand this not be the case, we are happy to make that clear and apologise for the error,” BBC moderator Jo Coburn expressed on January 16 amid a live telecast of BBC Two’s Daily Politics program.

As indicated by RT, Churkina has never talked with her dad in any organization. Emulating the announcement, RT brought the matter to the consideration of the editors at the BBC, asking for a conciliatory sentiment and a withdrawal
