Kwara asks police to uncover corps member’s killers

The Kwara State Government has urged the Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Garba Salihu, to redouble investigative efforts to fish out and prosecute the killers of a corps member, Miss Yetunde Idowu.
Idowu, before her death, was a serving corps member in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

She left her residence penultimate Saturday and never returned home alive.
She was found dead at GRA Ilorin, reportedly with a broken skull and bruises a day after she left home.
Our correspondent gathered on Wednesday that the Secretary to the Kwara State Government, Alhaji Sola Gold, conveyed government’s directive to the CP in a letter signed on his behalf by the Permanent Secretary (General Services), Alhaji M. A. Shehu.
Gold said the government was disturbed by Idowu’s death.
Gold said while every life required protection from the security agencies, corps members on national service in Kwara State deserved special care and attention because they were serving their fatherland away from their families.
The state government, therefore, called on Salihu to accelerate investigations to unravel the circumstances leading to Idowu’s death.
He also urged the CP to bring the culprits to book.
