Former governor of Akwa Ibom state and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator (Akwa Ibom northwest), has been named the Minority Leader of the Senate.
He was endorsed yesterday by the caucuses of PDP in the senate across the six geo- political zones.
Senate President Bukola Saraki made the announcement on Tuesday shortly after the federal lawmaker resumed from recess.
Emmanuel Bwacha (Taraba South) is Deputy minority leader while Phillip Aduda representing the FCT is minority whip.
His nomination is however against the standing rules of the senate, which exempts first-term senators from holding principal positions
