Parents Forgot Their Child, She Floated 1km Out to Sea

When you are a parent, there is really one thing you always need to remember: never forget your kid anywhere.

 It doesn’t matter if you’re in the local grocery store or a theme park, you always bring the child home. Unfortunately, one happy couple didn’t appear to learn that rule. Instead, this little girl ended up on a flotation toy in the middle of the ocean, floating 1km out to sea because the parents fell asleep while sunbathing, reports Telegraph.

Now, this wasn’t, like, a life raft that someone can survive for days upon while trapped in the ocean. No, this was a flotation toy. The type of children’s toy that most parents allow their children to play with while in the child’s section of the community pool. This young girl held on for dear life in the middle of the ocean while her parents slept through the afternoon.

Thankfully, Melda – the young girl left behind – was discovered by a group of other sunbathers witnessed the ten-month-old floating out to sea. They rescued her, bringing her back to safety on the shore.

It’s unclear if anything will be happening to the parents for this act of negligence.
