No APC Gov Aspirant Can Match Me –Dickson

Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson has described the 19 governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the December 5 governorship election in the state as political jobbers, traders and contractors.

Among the 19 APC governorship aspirants are former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe, former Governor Timipre Sylva, former Chief of Staff to Dickson, Diekivie Ikiogha, former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Japan, Emmanuel Otiotio, former senate candidate for Bayelsa Central,Preye Aganaba, former Commissioner Powell Godknows and Tonye Apreala, a female aspirant.

Dickson boasted that none of the APC governorship aspirants in the state can stand him in a political debate over the election.
He spoke on Wednesday during a live interview on radio and television conducted from his office at Government House,Yenagoa and monitored by our correspondent.
He said that the APC in Bayelsa was built on the foundation of violence, criminality, kidnapping and cultism.

The governor emerged the sole candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party at the weekend following the disqualification of the Senator representing Bayelsa Central, Senator Emmanuel Paulker and Ebikitin Diongooli, by the screening committee of the party.
He alleged that the APC had recruited mercenaries including armed groups, criminals and cultists for the election, adding that the party stood for political violence and brigandage.
“Nobody in APC is ready to take on me in an open political debate. If all the aspirants are put together, none of them can match me one on one,” he said.

Dickson said the APC governorship aspirants view Bayelsans as political instruments through which they will win elections while he sees the people as his political future.
On what gives him the hope that he will be re-elected, he said he was relying on God, his record of service to the people and his performance in office in the past three and half years.
Dickson also assured that despite the financial crunch being faced by the state he would not lay-off any civil servant in the state civil service.
He urged the people to re-elect him for second tenure in order to consolidate on his achievements and change the future of the youths in particular and the state in general.
