4 PDP Stalwarts, Over 400 Others Defect To APC In Kwali

Four stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and over 400 members of the party in Kwali Area Council, Abuja, on Tuesday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The PDP stalwarts who defected to APC were a former PDP caucus member in Kwali, Alhaji Bako Jibrin Kwaita, a former PDP elder, Musa Umar Dafa, Alhaji Audu Yeye and former PDP ex-officio member, Abdullahi Yau, Sarkin-Hausawa of Ashara community.


Chairman of APC in the area, Yahaya Aliyu Sheda, who gave the breakdown of those who defected, said 50 were from Yebu ward, 50 form Tungan-Sari, 50 from Kwaita-Tsoho, 100 at Ashara ward, 20 at Dnapa village in Yebu ward, 100 at Kwaita ward, 40 at Dafa ward and 20 at Sabon-Gari.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Yau said their decision to pitch tent with the APC was borne out of the party’s focus in tackling some challenges facing the masses in the country.
The chairman of the APC in the FCT, Alhaji Usman Abdulmalik, said the defection of four stalwarts of the PDP and 430 members across some wards of the council to the APC was a sign of victory for the party in the council election come April 9.

He assured the PDP defectors that the party will carry them along in whatever decision will be taken, while urging members and supporters of the party not to take the law into their hand but remain law abiding to constituted authorities.
Also speaking, the leader of the APC in the FCT and member of the House of Representatives for Abuja south constituency, Alhaji Zakari Angulu Dobi, called on the members and supporters of the party to come out en masse to cast their votes for both chairmanship and all councillorship candidates of the APC on April 9.
