"Buhari's Refusal To Sign Budget Based On Integrity & Sincerity" -- Ndume.

FIRST time Senators under the aegis of G-77 met Tuesday and resolved to do everything possible to end the rejig of the details of the 2016 budget by Friday this as requested by President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that things can kick start in the Nigerian economy.



Rising from a meeting held in hearing room 1, Senate complex, the senators pledged to support President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that he delivers dividends of democracy to Nigerians.

Addressing Journalists after the meeting, Coordinator of the group and Senate Minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, PDP, Akwa Ibom North West disclosed that the group was formed to help strengthen democracy as well as ensure that there was good governance. Meanwhile, Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume has said that President Muhammadu Buhari was resistant in signing the appropriation bill into law because of his sincerity and integrity, adding that he cannot append his signature in a document that has faults and where he wants to implement 100 per cent. Senator Ndume said, “The budget as presented by Mr President was not expected to go back to Mr President the way it was brought but at the same time again when the legislature work on the budget the executive who are to execute the bill or to implement it or really have to see whether this is something that they can do and especially now where you have a president who is very sincere who has integrity; who wants to see what is there so that he will make sure by the time he signs it, he has signed the document that he hopes to implement 100 per cent, even if that is not feasible, but the intention is 100 per cent.”
