Amosun Meets With Rescued Iyabo Anisulowo, Commends Security Agencies (photos)

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Tuesday night, received Senator Iyabo Anisulowo at the Government House, Abeokuta, shortly after she was rescued from her kidnappers.
Senator Anisulowo who was kidnapped last week Wednesday regained her freedom almost one week after following a massive manhunt for her abductors.

With the active assistance of the Ogun State Governor who personally led the first search party to the scene of Senator Anisulowo's kidnap last week, security agencies were able to also arrest the abductors of Senator Anisulowo led by the kingpin of kidnapping in Ogun State.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, Abdulmajid Ali, said the arrested kidnap kingpin was the brain behind the abduction of Senator Anisulowo.

Speaking shortly after receiving the former Minister and chieftain of the APC in the Government House, the Ogun State Governor thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his support and also appreciated security agencies for a job well done.
"This shows that with the right political leadership and tools, our security agencies can perform wonders," Governor Amosun said.
He added that "the arrest of the abductors of Senator Anisulowo clearly shows that Nigeria and especially, Ogun State, cannot and will not be a safe haven for criminals."
It will be recalled that the Ogun State Governor had earlier vowed to rescue Senator Anisulowo and ensure that her abductors are brought to book.
