Patience Jonathan resigns as 'Super' Permanent Sec. in Bayelsa
A source in the state Ministry of Education who pleaded anonymity with The Nation confirmed the First Lady's voluntary resignation and said her resignation may likely not be unconnected to her deepening rift with the state governor.
"The whole thing is political. It appears Madam Peace is not happy with the governor. With her resignation, the battle line has been drawn. I feel the President’s wife resigned to enable her to have the moral right to slug it out with Dickson ahead of the governorship poll in the state. Let no one deceive you, the whole thing is politics. After all, she is 57 and the retirement age is 60.” he said
Pics: Nigerian man nabbed after jumping White House fence
A Nigerian man based in Maryland, Dominic Adesanya, (pictured above) has been arrested after jumping the White House Fence. According to police reports, around 7.15pm yesterday Wednesday October 22nd, Adesanya, 23, climbed the fence on the North Lawn of the building and got about 20 yards past the fence before he was taken down by Secret Service and dogs.
He's currently in police custody but is being treated in a hospital for injuries he sustained during the encounter. He was attacked by K.9 dogs. Continue to see photos from the incident...

According to his Facebook profile, he attended Stevenson University for business administration and management and Hartford Community College for an associate of science, along with partially business administration and management.

North Korea Closes Border to Tourists Over Ebola Fears
North Korea is to close its borders to foreign tourists from Friday because of fears about the Ebola virus, say travel agencies with links to the country.
Beijing-based Koryo Tours, wrote on its Facebook page: "We have just been informed by our partners in North Korea that tomorrow North Korea will stop accepting international tourists due to the threat of the Ebola virus.”
FG Distributes Palm Seedlings, Potatoes and Others to Farmers in Imo
In line with President Goodluck Jonathan’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda, several tonnes of improved varieties of palm seedlings, cassava cuttings, potatoes and other farm inputs, were distributed yesterday to farmers in the 27 local government areas of Imo State.

60 women reportedly abducted by Boko Haram in Adamawa state
There are reports that about 60 women were abducted by members of Boko Haram during fresh attacks at Waga Mangoro and Garta villages, both in Adamawa State this past Saturday October 18th.
Residents of the villages who confirmed the abductions to reporters said the sect men came in motorcycles in the early hours of Saturday morning, killed many, burnt down their homes and abducted 40 women from Waga Mangoro village and 20 women from Garta village.
Jonathan has Delivered on Stable Macro Economy – Okonjo-Iweala
Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala disclosed President Goodluck Jonathan’s has delivered on a stable macro- economy for the country. Iweala revealed this while giving her score-card at the 2014 Ministerial Platform, attributing the stability to effective macro-economic management by the present administration.
Musician Ade Bantu shaves his dreads after carrying it for 23 years
Nigerian-German musician, producer and activict Adegoke Odukoya popularly known as Adé Bantu shaved his dreads recently after carrying it for 23 years. He posted photos of him having the dreads shaved and his new look on his Facebook page yesterday and wrote;
"After 23 years I decided it was time to let go and move on. It wasn't easy, but hey the only constant in life is change and sometimes we must embrace it fearlessly."
Fayose closes fuel station of Ekiti House speaker, others
Barely a week after assuming office as governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose yesterday October 22nd shut down a fuel station belonging to the Ekiti state House of Assembly speaker, Dr Adewale Omirin, and a few others saying that the fuel stations posed environmental hazard to where they were located.
Reacting to the closure of his filling station, the Speaker said the governor was only out to victimize him for not defecting from his political party, APC to the PDP which Fayose belongs to.
