Taiwo beneath the pretext of renting a house, situated at Magodo GRA, Lagos, and purchasing items for the furnishing, issued cheques totaling N11, 398, 500.

Photo gallery: Anti-government protesters set Burkina Faso Parliament ablaze!

Anti-government protesters in Burkina Faso today set their National parliament ablaze adhering to a decision by members of parliament to examine the country's constitution to permit President Blaise Compaore extend his 27-year rule. The parliament members were set to ovote on an alteration of the constitution which may permit the sitting president, Blaise Compaore - who took power in a coup in 1987 - to mean re-election again next season, when he was due to stand down.

The angry protesters who didn't concur with the proposed constitution review stormed the National Assembly building in the capital Ouagadougou, ransacking offices and setting fire to cars, before attacking the national television headquarters. One or more person died in the mayhem.

"I go to beer parlour on Friday to stay with ..." - Ayo Fayose

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state says he usually go to the beer parlour every Friday to generally meet with the commoners in his state. Fayose said this today in Abuja while trying to explain to newsmen the idea of the'stomach infrastructure'he initiated in his state, saying it doesn't only mean sharing of food and money to the people.

"I go to beer parlour on Friday to stay with the common men there. Governance is not church;  it is about diverse characters and you must relate with them as such. Christmas is coming. Why do people go out of their ways to be shopping or doing other things if it is not just to make people merry? So, I’m grooming chicken, buying rice, yams, plantain, and the rest of them. I am sure if I give it to families during the festive period, they will be happy. So, stomach infrastructure is a way of life.” he said

Photos: Bola Tinubu returns to Nigeria From London

Former Lagos State Governor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Thursday morning,
He arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport and was received by his close aides and former Commissioner for Justice in Lagos Prof Yemi Osibajo.
There were reports that Tinubu was flown to London on Friday following rumours that his health condition has deteriorated.

A 22 year old woman identified as Ifeoma Okechukwu has been arrested after she allegedly killed an unidentified man who she claimed tried to rape her at her Atlantic View Estate, Alpha Beach Road, Lekki home where she lived with her uncle. The incident happened on Monday October 27th.

According to a Punch, Ifeoma, an indigene of Imo state, said she had gone out on that faithful day around 12.30pm to buy sanitary pads because she was on her menstrual period, and was on her way back home when she was accosted by an unknown man....*graphic pic of the alleged rapist when you continue*

Diezani Madueke's Sister saved by Nigerian Police after 8 days in kidnapper's den

The sister of Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, Osiya Agama has regained freedom, rescued by police in Port Harcourt eight days after she was kidnapped.Mrs Agama was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on her way from a morning church on Tuesday October 21, at Leventis Bus-Stop along Port Harcourt-Aba Road, as she approached her car. The police said yesterday that she's been rescued. A text from the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, stated that she was rescued during a shared operation by the Police, Military And Operatives of the State Security Service

The man that was allegedly shot by Nigerian police in Delta state has died

Some days ago, there was a story about a person, 25yr old Moses Onianwa (pictured), who worked with Oshimili North LGA, and was allegedly shot by policemen mounted on Ibusa Police Station in Delta State during last Saturday's Local Government Area elections (if you missed the story, read here), unfortunately, he's passed. He died in early hours of today October 30th at the FMC Hospital in Asaba.

Friends of late Moses are now actually asking the Delta State Police Commissioner to research the case of Christopher Obiechie, another youth  who owns the Mercedes Benz C-class allegedly shot at by the police.

The Nigerian Police Force have withdrawn the security detail of the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, who recently defected from the PDP to APC. In a statement released few minutes ago on their official website, the Police said they withdrew Tambuwal's security because his recent defection flouts the 1999 constitution. Nigerian Troops Apprehended For working As spies For Boko Haram

Troops in Nigeria's military might be functioning as moles for Boko Haram, providing the enemy important information regarding the military's methods and tactics.  Media website, AllAfrica.com, reports that the nation's military has caught these troops it thought were working as double agents for Boko Haram.

“It was gathered that the alleged moles among the soldiers leaked the information on the deployment of soldiers from Maimalari Barracks in April this year to the terrorists, which led to an ambush and killing of so many soldiers of the 101 Battalion”, the news site explained.

Just in: President Goodluck Jonathan, Emir Sanusi reconcile

After nearly a year of bitter relations, President Goodluck Jonathan and the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, met Thursday in Abuja and reconciled differences that drove both men to the extremes of their offices.

Sanusi, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, was fired by the president in February after accusing the  government of diverting $20 billion oil revenues.

It is sheer cowardice for a man of his stature to have remained in a political party to which he was openly disloyal merely out of fear of losing the position of Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives which he attained because he was of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
