EFCC wans politicians: Don't use us for your political propaganda

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has warned Politicians to desist from attempting to use the agency as a tool to fight their opponents during this election period. In a statement released this morning, the EFCC said in recent weeks it has received overwhelming petitions from politicians against their opponents alleging financial impropriety. The EFCC says even though it is important for citizens to be whistle blowers, they should not wait till election time.

Open Letter To General Muhammadu Buhari by Chika Onuora

Since I heard that the All Progressives Congress (APC) voted you in as its presidential candidate, I have been worried about so many issues, some of which I will mention, but others I will raise at other fora.
To start with, as a woman, I am pained that you will not have an office of the First Lady. Many have said that the constitution does not have a provision for that office, which I believe is true, but I still insist that you bring your wife to Abuja, and into the Aso Rock Villa, to help better our lives. She can only do that with the full paraphernalia of an office, so I advise that you reconsider your position.

Can you Spot the difference ? (Banky W's Version)

Warden: Aha! I’ve caught you stealing fish red-handed.

Akpos

Akpos: What do you mean by red-handed?

Warden: You’ve got a bucket full of fish

right here, you can not talk your way out of

it this time.

Akpos: Oh, you don’t understand, I’ve not

stolen a thing. These are my pet fish. I

bring them to the reservoir once a week for

exercise. After they’ve had a good swim,

they come back to the bucket and we go

back home. I can prove it.

Akpos dipped the bucket in and the fishes

swam away.

They both stood in silence for 20, 30, 40

minutes…..No sign of the fish coming back

to the bucket.

Warden: Aha, you lying rogue! You steal

fish?

Akpos: What fish? Where is your proof?.

One word for Akpos.

Warden: Aha! I’ve caught you stealing fish red-handed.

Top Secret Russian Sub Snapped

A photo of a super-secret Northern Fleet submarine appears in a top-selling car magazine.

Browsing through military internet forums many were surprised to see in the Russian edition of Top Gear automobile magazine a snapshot of a super-secret Russian deep-diving sub.
The photo, covering a test run of a Mercedes-Benz GL 450 to Arkhangelsk, shows a deep-water nuclear-powered AS-12 Project 10830 submarine, better known as Losharik. The photo was taken from the White Sea shore where the car was undergoing an off-road test.

Olokun: Olokun is the Orisa of the vast and deep sea.

Her rule reaches from the water’s surface to the deepest darkest parts of the ocean. She is nurturing yet mysterious and unknowable at the same time.
Olokun_1

Olokun is the mother of the orisa Aje and thus it is from Olokun that Aje (the Orisa of great wealth) is born – it is from Olokun that Aje draws her power. Children of Olokun tend to be socially awkward but kind and uncomfortably unknowable. They are quick to anger and even quicker to calm. Their moods tend to ebb and flow like the ocean. Olokun is symbolized by the sea and white she-goats are among her favorite offerings. She is represented by the number 7 and his sacred day of the week is Monday. [Note: While opinions on this vary – both in and out of Yorubaland – Curator of Peoples Culture Magazine learned from his Yoruba elders that Yemonja and Olokun are most certainly separate Orisa. However, they do compliment each other’s energy in necessary and profound ways. For these reasons one may not receive Olokun without having received Yemonja first.

Quote of the Day !

religion

”It just makes me laugh as these so called Christian now bash on Muslims and call them extremists and say they are being violent. I mean, have you Christians had a look at your history as a religion? Especially the African ones amongst you. Isn’t it through terrorism and extremism that brought the religion to Africa and enforced it on out ancestors? And the so called liberal Europeans, who claim not to be religious but still live off the wealth, status, lands and opportunities Christianity-dominated Europe has brought them, I just laugh at the hypocrisy and folly!

A day will come when our lovely Earth will be cleansed of all you religious nuts and religion carrying nut job!”-

What is the Yoruba name for mermaid?

mama

While in Nigeria I would hear conflicting stories about mermaids. What is the Yoruba name for mermaid? Why are they feared? I dont believe we are talking Orisa but something else that comes from the sea to capture people’s soul and then disappear? True or misinformation? Please educate me of the facts on Mermaids.

What is the Yoruba name for mermaid?

Orisa Ibeji: The sacred twins.

Ibeji are the orisa of twinship and doubling. Since having children is a great blessing in Ifa – to have two is doubly good! Twins are born with powerful ase that predisposes them to being powerful priests and magicians.
ebeji
Indeed, the ase of a twin birth is so strong that the child born after the twins is thought to be able to profit from the residual ase still in the mother’s womb and is thus also born into the world with increased power potential. The Ibeji have the ability to double your blessings and your misgivings.

However, when served properly they bring with them enormous wealth and good fortune. If at any point a twin dies (or is born still-born) a set of Ibeji dolls must be made for those twins. That twin doll is treated as if it were the living twin! It’s fed, put to bed, and even taken out for walks. The care of the twin doll either falls to the living twin, the twin’s mother, or to the family. While individual Ibeji dolls should be made for deceased twins the full Orisa complex known as Ibeji can also be composed for would-be devotees. When served properly the Ibeji bring with them blessings and protections that are hard to match.
