Osun workers resume strike action

Two days after calling off their 7-week old strike over unpaid salaries, Osun state civil servants have resumed a fresh strike. The workers are alleging that the state government have reneged on the memorandum of understanding signed with the state NLC leadership before the strike action was called off on Monday July 13th.

Senior civil servants demand a minimum wage of N46, 000

The Association of Senior Civil Servants demanded a minimum wage of N46,000 for workers.
The union’s Secretary-General, Mr. Bashir Lawal, in Lagos State, on Wednesday, said that the existing N18,000 minimum wage was too little to meet the socio-economic demands of workers.

Don’t delay NNPC probe, APC tells Buhari

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked the federal government to probe the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) without further delay. The party raised concern on the whereabouts of the dividend paid to the corporation by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company (NLNG) as well as the taxes paid to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) federation account prior to the latest payment in June 2015.

Negotiate with Boko Haram, Sultan urges FG


The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has called on the federal government to negotiate with Boko Haram for the release of Chibok girls abducted over a year ago.
The monarch who cited an example with the United States of America which negotiated with Taliban and agreed to the release five of their top commanders for one American soldier, said Nigeria could also do the same for the release of Chibok girls, “because every life is sacred”.

Rep. wants the court to announce Buhari's grant unlawful after dragging him to court


A member from the House of Representatives Igariwey Iduma Enwo has dragged President Muhammadu Buhari under the watchful eye of an Abuja Federal Court over the release of N700 billion grants to states to pay excess of salaries purportedly “without following constitutional process.”

President Buhari had on July 6 affirmed the release of the funds for the states to have the capacity to settle several months’ salaries they owed their workers.

President Buhari Ask Nigerians To Reject Radio Biafra

17yr old Nigerian schooling in UK drowns in Canada while on school trip


 A 17 year old Nigerian boy, Jamal Ottun, a student of Wallington County Grammar School in South London drowned while swimming with his school mates at the Shawnigan lake on Vancouver Island, Canada on Sunday July 12th. According to reports, the talented sportsman was in Canada with his school's Rugby team for a Rugby tour when the sad incident happened. He had gone swimming with his team mates when he drowned. New York City has settled with the family of Eric Garner for $5.9m



New York City has reached a settlement with the family of Eric Garner, who died after being put in a choke-hold by police last July, agreeing to pay $5.9 million to resolve the claim over his death. The family had filed a $75million lawsuit against the city but accepted a pretrial settlement on Monday.

Child Abuse: Mum beats & stabs her own son this morning in Lagos (photo)


A horrible woman attacked and inflicted unimaginable injuries on her own son. She beat and stabbed him this morning at their home at 11, Olawoyin street, Kollinton, Alagbado. Duncan Mighty's baby mama drags him to Social Welfare office over their daughter

‎Duncan Might,y who is marrying his longtime girlfriend Vivien on July 25th, welcomed a child with an ex in March 2015. The lady, who is based in Abuja, (pictured right with the child) dragged Duncan Mighty to the Social Welfare Office in Abuja, accusing him of not taking responsibility for the child.. an allegation Duncan's people have since denied.
