Railways: Jonathan Lacked Vision –Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday slammed ex-President Goodluck Jonathan for lacking vision in the rehabilitation of the railways.

He based his criticism on the fact that the railway lines were obsolete as they were constructed in 1903 and could not match the modern global trends.

Gunmen Kidnap Four Female Students At EBSU, Abakaliki In An Apparent Robbery

Four female students of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki, have allegedly been abducted by gunmen who invaded the Simeon Oduoye female hostel of the College of Agricultural Science campus of the university.

Two of the security agents manning the campus were said to have been shot on their legs by the gunmen a situation which forced others to go into hiding for safety.

Remember the prophet, Destiny Onwudinjo, of Heaven Divine Ministry, in Shasha, Lagos who was sentenced to seven years imprisonment without an option of fine for running away from court to evade trial? well he has committed suicide inside Kirikiri

According to his co-inmates and neighbours, Onwudinjo died recently in prison custody due to frustration.  PM News reports that he was so dejected about his conviction and jail term that he decided to terminate his life inside the prison.

FAAN denies stopping Patience Jonathan from using VIP lounge at Port Harcourt Int'l Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has denied reports that former First Lady, Patience Jonathan was denied access to the VIP lounge of the Port Harcourt International Airport recently. FAAN in a statement issued by its general manager Corporate Affairs, Mr Yakubu Dati today July 28th, said the reports are false and misleading.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, has kicked the bucket at 85 years old in a London healing facility.


The ruler was said to have kicked the bucket around 5pm on Tuesday (today).


Pertinent authorities, who addresses our reporter on Tuesday night, then again, declined to affirm the ruler’s demise, saying they would not like to be cited on the demise of the foremost traditional leader, who was said to have passed away on Tuesday.

Israeli spy granted parole 30 years after arrest

Convicted spy for Israel Jonathan Pollard has been granted parole and will be released from an American jail on Nov. 21, his lawyer announced Tuesday.

Pollard’s release — exactly 30 years after his arrest — could help ease the tensions between the United States and Israel that have grown over the Iran nuclear deal, which President Barack Obama supports and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vehemently opposes.

President Muhammadu Buhari appoints new Coordinator Niger Delta Amnesty Program


President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday selected Brigadier-General P.T. Boroh (rtd.) as the Coordinator of the Amnesty Program for previous Niger Delta militants.


An announcement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said that Brig. Boroh’s arrangement takes immediate effect.


Boroh is assuming control over the obligations of the previous Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Niger Delta who additionally served as Coordinator of the Amnesty Program.


The arrangement of another Coordinator for the Amnesty Program, the announcement said, is to prompt the speedy resolution of late hitches in its implementation , for example, the non-installment of outstanding allowances to ex-militants.

Akpabio is senate minority leader


Former governor of Akwa Ibom state and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator (Akwa Ibom northwest), has been named the Minority Leader of the Senate.
He was endorsed yesterday by the caucuses of PDP in the senate across the six geo- political zones.
Senate President Bukola Saraki made the announcement on Tuesday shortly after the federal lawmaker resumed from recess.
Emmanuel Bwacha (Taraba South) is Deputy minority leader while Phillip Aduda representing the FCT is minority whip.
His nomination is however against the standing rules of the senate, which exempts first-term senators from holding principal positions

81 Senators Pass Vote of Confidence on Saraki, Ekweremadu

It was a shocker for members of Senate Unity Forum Tuesday when 81 senators passed a vote of confidence in Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu without a dissenting voice.  The motion was moved by Senator Sam Anyanwu (Imo East) at the resumption of the Senate from four weeks' recess and supported by Senator Dino Melaye (Kogi West).

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, urged Nigerians who have been accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of being too slow to allow the President at least 100 days of honeymoon.

Pics: 20yr old man jailed for life for the murder of 18yr old Nigerian rapper, Isaiah Ekpaloba

18-year-old Nigerian Isaiah Ekpaloba (left) was stabbed to death in Wood Green, UK, after a fight with his friend Jaydee Dorsett (right) following what police believe was a dispute over drugs on 9th January, 2015.

 Jaydee, 20, has now been found guilty of his murder and was sentenced to life yesterday, July 27th for murder and will serve a minimum of 12 years before he is eligible for parole. He was also sentenced to fours years for attempted wounding with intent.
