Instead of them to come down from their van to control the traffic like civilized police men or even blow their siren to alert people to give way. They resulted to firing their guns carelessly! They did not even take care to shoot only in the air, they were careless. Then, one of the stray bullets hit a shop around the area and my brother works in that shop! Thankfully the bullet only hit the wall, but it just could have easily been somebody's head! How can the people placed to protect us be our nightmare?

I Left The Nigerian Army Better Than I Met It – Minimah
The immediate past Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Kenneth Minimah yesterday asserted that he left the Nigerian Army better than he met it, stressing that the Army he headed successfully forced leaders of the Boko Haram sect into hiding.
Speaking at his Pulling out Parade organised to signify his formal exit from the military in Abuja, Minimah was optimistic that the days of Boko Haram sect was numbered as they no longer had the strength to intimidate the public with propaganda as it used to do.

Plateau: PDP’s Pwajok Wins Round One Against APC’s Lalong Tt Tribunal
The Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos, on Wednesday dismissed attempts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to block the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from tendering vital documents to defend its case.
The petition is that of the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Gyang Pwajok, who is challenging the victory of Mr Simon Bako Lalong of the APC at the polls because he alleged foul plays in the election.

Nigerian Man Beats Mom To Death IN USA
Dr Hauwa Esther Kadima, 61, was found dead on July 28 after officers received a call from her son Daniel Basor Kadima, 31, alerting them of a person believed to be dead at her apartment.
Daniel called 911 about 9 a.m. July 28 and told dispatchers he was calling to report a death, according to the warrant, which was released Monday. When asked when he had last seen the deceased, he responded “yesterday,” police said.

Sambo Dasuki, former National Security Adviser (NSA), says Boko Haram sect might have disrupted the 2015 election were it not for efforts of the Goodluck Jonathan administration in equipping the armed forces.

PDP, Senators Disagree Over Proposed N14.7 World Bank Loan For Edo
ABUJA- THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has urged the Senate and the House of Representatives to reject in its entirety, the proposed $75 million credit loan which amounts to N14.7 billion from the World Bank for Edo State, just as it warned that if granted, it would impoverish the state.

NCC Gives Telcos Ultimatum to Deactivate Pre-registered SIM Cards
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) and other network providers to deactivate all pre-registered Subscribers Identification Module (SIM) cards or face sanctions.
The telecoms regulatory body gave the ultimatum after a high-level security meeting between the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Department of State Service (DSS), the network operators and the NCC in Abuja.

Lagos releases ₦11bn to pay pensioners
The Lagos State Government has released N11bn to pay off pension liabilities in arrears in the state since 2010 to date. The Head of Service, Mrs. Folashade Jaji, on Wednesday in Alausa, Ikeja, said the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, had directed that the sum should be used to pay the pension liabilities of the Lagos State Government mainstream retirees and the retirees in local governments areas.
