Adeniyi Oyebade Indicted Of Shi'ite Killing By Kaduna Judicial Panel Of Inquiry


The General Officer Commanding the Nigerian Army’s 1st Division, Adeniyi Oyebade, a major general, authorized last December’s military operation that massacred at least 347 members of the Shi’a Muslim group in Zaria, and should be prosecuted, a judicial commission of inquiry into the killings, has said in its final report.
The commission of inquiry, set up by the Kaduna State government, indicted Mr. Oyebade and other senior army officers for the attack, PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report.
The panel’s report was submitted to Gov. Nasir el-Rufai on Friday, but its details are yet to be made public.

A renowned Russian journalist Pavel Sheremet has died in downtown Kiev when the car he was driving blew up minutes after the engine started.

Police inspector rapes 15-year-old girl in Akwa Ibom

A police inspector attached to Mkpat Enin Police Division in Akwa Ibom State has allegedly raped a 15-year-old senior secondary pupil of Community Secondary School, at gunpoint, while she was returning from church on Thursday, last week, Punchng reports.

The victim explained that the inspector pointed his gun at her, saying if she tried to stop him from touching her he would shoot her. Last year an English doctor David Williams was in Ghana visiting his daughter who was teaching English and working on a radio show when he met Ethan’s father Charles, who also worked at the radio station.

Dr Williams was asked to examine Ethan and within a year he and his wife Jacquie helped to raise around £51,000 to fly the toddler to the UK for surgery.  Ethan is set to have what Dr Williams has described as “life-saving and life-transforming” surgery on Wednesday.

Buhari Condemns Coup In Turkey, Congratulates President Erdogan For Surviving

President Muhammadu Buhari has joined President Obama and other world leaders in vehemently condemning the abortive coup attempt in Turkey by a group of rebel army officers and men, which resulted in the reported death of more than 100 people.

Reacting to the tragic events in Ankara, Istanbul and other centres, President Buhari said he was “deeply saddened by reports of a violent attempt to dismantle constitutional authority and disrupt the democratically elected government of Tayyip Erdogan in Turkey.”

SERAP Sues FG For Not Releasing Names Of Looters
