Dear Job Seeker, Is Your Computer Literacy Enough?

I hear people often say, ‘I am computer literate’ and I am wondering what they meant by that. The statement does not answer any question. For God sake, there are over a hundred thing you can do with a computer, so telling me that you are computer literate is very ambiguous. Bypass the computer literacy cliché and just tell me what exactly it is you can do with the computer.

Almost every CV on my table has that cliché ‘Computer Literate with Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications’ or Proficient with Word, Excel, Power Point and Internet Appreciation and I am like , and so? Is that all?

Thugs Beat Mother, Smash Baby Against The Floor

Some thugs have allegedly beaten up a woman, who was identified simply as Beatrice, and smashed her two-year-old baby against the floor, killing the toddler.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at the Bajare Camp in the Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Witnesses told our correspondent that the thugs attacked Beatrice on the instruction of a middle-aged woman, identified simply as Toyin, following a disagreement between the women.

The concerns arose after a recent directive by Buhari asking the Ministries of Finance, Trade, Investments and Industries, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other relevant agencies to come up with new economic policies aimed at boosting manufacturing in the 2016 budget.

Protesting Lawyers Disrupt NBA Session Over Amaechi!

Members of the Port-Harcourt branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), on Monday disrupted a session of the law body’s annual conference over an invitation extended to former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Ameachi to address them.
The placard-carrying protesters opposed Ameachi’s presence on the ground that Amaechi’s government shut courts in the state for one year during his tenure.

The protest degenerated into brawl when Ameachi, who was the co-chairman of the session, wanted to speak and another group of lawyers challenged the protesters.

Toddler Dies After Eating Poisoned Rice (pictures Of Suspects)


There was confusion in the Ijora Badia area of Lagos State when a two-year-old boy, Ibrahim, died after eating a plate of rice suspected to have been poisoned.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the food was prepared by his mother, Fatimoh Azeez.

Fatimoh, however, said the food was eaten by other members of her family who were not hurt, adding that she suspected that one of her sisters-in-law, Fatimoh Rasaki, who had visited her on the day of the incident, had a hand in the death of the child.

The probe panel set-up to investigate the immediate past administration of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has said it is not out to witch-hunt anyone.

MTN Group Limited has abandoned plans to repay early, about $500 million of debt held in Nigeria, saying it can’t get hold of dollars in the African wireless carrier’s biggest market.

Reports reaching DAILY POST has it that a suicide bomber struck at a busy area in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital this morning. At least five people were killed from the explosion with more than 20 others injured. Director of Media and Publicity to Yobe State Governor, Abdullahi Bego, confirmed that the dead have been evacuated to the mortuary while the injured victims are currently being attended to by health and emergency workers. Boy 'born with 3 penises' undergoes pioneering surgery to leave him with just one

A little boy born with three penises in an incredibly rare occurrence has undergone pioneering surgery to correct the abnormality. According to reports, the two-year-old pictured above with his mum suffers from diphallia, a rare condition where a male is born with two penises.

He also had a third penis considered rudimentary, or undeveloped. In addition, the unnamed boy was born without an anus.

EFCC chairman accused of diverting N1trillion loot recovered from corrupt politicians


The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been accused of diverting over N1tn recovered from corrupt politicians who forfeited their loots. A man named George Uboh recently petitioned the Senate, accusing the chairman of the anti-graft agency of diverting money recovered from corrupt politicians including former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; and ex-Inspector-General of Police, Tafa Balogun.

Buhari raises 13-member panel to probe weapon procurement since 2007


President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the National Security Adviser to convene an investigative committee on the procurement of hardware and munitions in the Armed Forces from 2007 till now, a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has said.
According to the statement, the investigative committee’s mandate is to identify irregularities and make recommendations for streamlining the procurement process in the Armed Forces.

Ambode Cancels Fashola's Last Minute Lekki Land Allocations

Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has revoked the allocation of over25 plots of land by his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola, in his final days in office.

TheCable understands that the expansive land at Lekki Phase One had been allocated to the Lagos State Water Corporation in 1998 by the then military administrator of the state, Mohamed Marwa, while the certificate of occupancy was signed by Bola Tinubu, former governor of the state, in 2006.
However, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, who was the permanent secretary of the Lagos state ministry of lands under Fashola, had reportedly informed the former governor that the land was “available”.
The land was officially parcelled into 25plots and shared by Fashola who went on to sign the certificates of occupancy on May 26, three days to his exit from office.
