Suspected kidnapper of two siblings, strips naked in cell, police search for her relatives

A yet-to-be-named suspect in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, Lagos State, has been taken to the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, to determine her state of mental health, Punchng reports.

According to the news outlet, EFCC has arrested 4 domestic servants, including a driver and a houseboy, whose names were used to open bank accounts for Mrs Dame Patience Jonathan. The companies’ accounts were opened at Skye Bank.

The companies are Pluto Property and Investment Company Ltd, Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Ltd, Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Ltd and Globus Integrated Service Ltd.

Nigerian Troops neutralize female suicide bomber


In a statement, Col. Usman, the Acting Director Army Public Relations, said: "On Sunday 11th September 2016, evening, a suspected female suicide bomber was seen approaching troops check point located at Kara Cattle market axis, Dikwa, Borno State.

She was challenged from afar by the vigilant duty sentry, she refused to stop claiming to be coming from Monguno to see her parents in Dikwa. Troops sensing the direction of approach was suspicious and abnormal, fired a shot at her.

Herdsman sustains gunshot wounds, three others missing in Enugu reprisal attack -


The attack was reportedly carried out on a Fulani cattle rearers’ settlement in Aku, in Igbo-Etiti LGA of Enugu State, by youths of Aku community.

It was gathered that the relationship between members of the community and the herdsmen had been tense for a long time due to misgivings on the part of the villagers over the destruction of their crops by cows.

Patience Jonathan tells court that the $31.4 m inside a frozen account belongs to her

According to TheGuardian, former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, is claiming ownership of the $31.4m involved in an alleged fraud case before a Federal High Court in Lagos.


Counsel to the first defendant in charge, with case number FHC/337C/16, Gboyega Oduwole, informed the court that Mrs. Jonathan filed a fundamental application against the EFCC, claiming ownership of the money.

Parents Protest Over LAUTECH Shutdown


Collision of parents of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Ogbomoso indigenes have taken to street to protest the long shut down of the institution.

Placards carrying parents, especially those of Ogbomoso, Oyo State indigenes stormed the Senate building of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology earlier today to pour our their grievances over the shut. They demand the Oyo State government take over of LAUTECH, calling for the evacuation of all students from Osun State origin.

Moulders increase block prices by between 11% and over 30%

The new price regime for blocks is expected to come into effect immediately after the moulders call off their 5-day strike today. They went on strike following the recent increase in the prices of cement from N1,500 to between N2,400 and N2,500.

Some protesters on Monday, September 5, stormed the United Nations office in Abuja. The protesters under the aegis of ‎Center for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency (CESJET), a civil society organization said it was out to the Un of possible plans by Amnesty International to colonise Nigeria again. The group in their scores while delivering a petition to the UN said Nigeria can solve its problems.
