Kiev Violates Ceasefire 15 Instances on New Year's Eve: Donetsk

DONETSK, January 1 (Ooduarere)  Balogun Adesina — Kiev forces have broken the truce concurrence with the freedom supporters of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) for around 15 times amid the New Year’s Eve, the representative for the DPR Ministry of Defense told RIA Novosti Thursday.


“We recorded about 15 violations [of the ceasefire agreement] with the use of small arms. These incidents occurred near the Donetsk airport and the village of Peski, but we expected even more [violations],” the representative said.


Earlier on Thursday, the Donetsk city hall said in an announcement that there were no dangers in Donetsk on the New Year’s Eve.


In April 2014, Kiev dispatched a military operation against autonomous supporters in the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions, who declined to accept the authenticity of the new government that came to power after the February coup.


The clashing gatherings arrived at a truce assention amid a September 5 gathering of the Contact Group in the Belarus capital of Minsk, however both have in this manner blamed one another for breaking it.


On December 9, Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko announced a purported “quiet administration” in Donbas to resume peace arrangement.
