Space Station Crew Raised Toasts for New Year’s Eve 16 Times

LAGOS, January 1 (Ooduarere) — The team on board the International Space Station (ISS) will have a chance to raise their beverages 16 times as they circle the globe on New Year’s Eve, NASA said.


Zooming around the Earth at 17,500 miles every hour, the ISS will pass 16 times spots on the planet where it is midnight, in spite of the fact that the year 2015 begins formally for the station at midnight by Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in London.


Undertaking 42’s Commander Barry Wilmore and NASA’s Terry Virts, Russia’s Elena Serova, Alexander Samoukutyaev and Anton Shkaplerov, and European Space Agency’s Samantha Cristoforetti said they wanted to celebrate with products of the soil juice toasts, as per the US space organization.


The team is planned to be in its rest move on New Year’s Day, which is their vacation day, however they may choose to stay up late for the event, NASA recommended.
