Our elders say, "Bá ò rí àdán À fi òòbẹ̀ sẹbọ. "

Our elders say:

Bá ò rí àdán

À fi òòbẹ̀ sẹbọ.

Where there is no bat

We substitute with òòbẹ̀ sacrifice.

The Diaspora is the land of Oobe, without bat.

Africans in the diasporas should search for the bat; but where there is no bat, there is no need for panic;

They are free and released to use Oobe substitutes where there is no bat.

This interpretation applies in a broad metaphoric sense;

It has been the sustaining principle of life in Yoruba Orisa experience, as a dynamic, adaptive, and live way of life.

This is what our sages mean when they say:

Bá ò rí àdán

À fi òòbẹ̀ sẹbọ.

Where there is no bat

We substitute with oobe sacrifice.
